Yoongi's eyes opened, lips immediately curling into a soft smile at the beauty right in front of him. Sophia had arrived home from her classes shortly after 3:00, at which point she dragged Yoongi to their bed for a cuddle session that quickly turned into a nap. He turned slightly to be able to grab his phone from the bedside table, seeing that it was now after 4:30. He rolled back over and watched his girlfriend sleep for a few minutes before reaching out and lightly brushing her hair from her face. When she didn't stir, he quietly climbed out of their bed and made his way to the living room where his backpack lay. Once there, he pulled out the small box he'd hidden inside of his schoolbag, knowing that Sophia would never look in there. Opening the box, he admired the sparkling piece of jewelry before taking it out, setting the box on the coffee table before walking back to the bedroom with the ring in hand.

When he reentered the room, he saw that Sophia was still sound asleep. He sat down on the bed next to her and gently grabbed her left hand, pausing to make sure he hadn't disturbed her. Once he decided he was good, he slipped the ring onto her finger, wanting to at least know what it would look like in the off chance that she said no. Almost every fiber in his being told him that there was no way she would ever reject him, but that anxiety side of him kept telling him to return the ring and that he was stupid for even considering proposing.

He was admiring the way the ring looked on her when she began to stir. He froze slightly, knowing that he didn't have enough time to hide the ring before she fully awakened, so he decided that he might as well do it then rather than waiting until that night like he had planned. A smile grew on his face as her eyes finally opened and she focused her gaze on him. "Hey, sleeping beauty~"

"Shut up~" Sophia grumbled, feeling a foreign object on her hand, but in her just-woke-up state, she was unable to figure out what it was. She moved to bring her hand up to look at it but realized that he was gripping her hand. "I know you like holding my hand, but can I have it back for now."

"Hold on a second." Yoongi said, moving to sit more comfortably on the bed without letting go of her hand, not wanting her to see the ring until the exact moment he popped the question. "Do you know what day it is?"

"The absolute worst day of the week that should disappear, formal name being Monday." Yoongi chuckled at Sophia's description.

"Not that." Yoongi turned serious, lightly stroking her hand with his thumb. "Three years ago, I went to the first and only school dance of my life with my best friend." Sophia sat up slightly, leaning against the headboard as she tried to hide her smile. "At that dance, I found myself being dragged out of my seat and forced to dance with said best friend." Yoongi smiled at her and squeezed her hand. "And the night ended with me realizing that my best friend was the love of my life."

Sophia started laughing, as she does when she's feeling awkward and doesn't know how to respond. "I swear, you need to turn down the cheese factor."

She continued giggling as Yoongi let go of her hand and held it up for her to see, finally stopping as she noticed the ring on her finger. "Will you marry me?"

Sophia sat up fully, encasing Yoongi's face in her hands as she pulled him towards her, their mouths fitting together much more perfectly than they had three years prior. She pulled away to say, "Of course I'll marry your dorky, cheesy ass."

Yoongi smiled against her lips as she pulled him in for another kiss before pulling back just enough to speak, his mouth lightly brushing hers. "If you thought that was cheesy, wait until you hear what I'd originally planned."

"Oh god~" Sophia groaned, falling back against her pillow. "Do I even wanna know?"

"Of course, you do!" Yoongi leaned down to press his lips to her cheek. "I had planned on a late-night picnic dinner in our living room."

Sophia let out a laugh, letting her hands trail down to the waistband of Yoongi's sweatpants. "If you had done that, you probably wouldn't have gotten laid tonight."

"You know, that was only partially on my mind~" Yoongi commented as Sophia leaned up to trail kisses along his neck. "I have to leave in about two hours for rehearsal, meaning I have to get ready in about an hour."

Sophia shrugged as she slipped her hand inside his pants, making him have to hold back a moan as he wanted to play hard to get to tease her. "We'll just have to go for another round or two when you get back." She pushed him, so he was lying on his side of the bed before climbing on top of him, their lips meeting almost immediately.

That Thursday night, Yoongi and Sophia climbed up the bleachers in the high school football stadium to sit with the rest of the family (minus Hoseok and Jimin since they were at dance class) to watch the 8th grade football game, specifically to see Jungkook play. "Hey~" Yoongi greeted as he sat down next to Jin, Sophia sitting next to him and intertwining their fingers together.

"Hey, Yoongi-" Jin greeted as he turned to look at them, gaze zeroing in on a new accessory decorating Sophia's hand. "What is that?"

Yoongi tensed up and his eyes widened as he looked at his dad. "Dad, do not make a big deal out of this, I am begging you."

"If that's what I think it is, then you better believe I will be making a big deal!" Their conversation gathered the attention of Namjoon and Taehyung. "Joon, our baby's engaged!" Jin exclaimed as Yoongi hid his face in his hands, Sophia rubbing his back comfortingly.

"Okay, calm down~" Namjoon rubbed Jin's shoulder, noticing how uncomfortable Yoongi was. Thankfully the game started just a few seconds later, distracting Jin from commenting any more on the relationship change in the young couple.
