The Meaning of Family: The Collections

Family Vacation (6/9)

Not long after the ship arrived in Roatan, the family was standing in line behind other passengers of the cruise, waiting to go to shore. "I wanted to spend the day with Uncle Kookie!" Sammie pouted as they shuffled forward in line.

"Don't worry, Sammie, our tours overlap some." Jungkook ruffled her hair before wrapping his arms around her from behind, making the eight-year-old giggle. When looking at excursions, the family had decided to split up. The two couples with children would be going on a wildlife tour to look at the various animal habitats the island had to offer, while the rest of the family would be doing a highlights tour, both of which would end with shopping in a small village and relaxation time at the beach.

They eventually made it off the boat and explored the port before they had to gather up for the tours. "Have fun!" Jin called out to his grandchildren as they parted ways. "Don't let any of those monkeys steal you away!"

Taehyung and Yoongi settled onto the bus with their families. "I brought my polaroid to take pictures." Sophia informed the others as she set her backpack on her lap and began to dig through it. Once she found it, she turned to her husband. "Let me take a picture of you and Presley." The infant was already sitting on Yoongi's lap, so Yoongi just maneuvered her into a standing position and pressed a kiss to her cheek for the picture. Presley laughed loudly in glee as Sophia took the picture, the photo soon coming out of the camera. "That was cute!"

The tour guide soon entered the bus and introduced herself as Bessy. She explained some of the rules, most of which were for safety reasons, before telling the driver that they were good to go. "Am I really gonna get to hold a monkey?!" Austin asked, bouncing in his seat.

"I think we all will get to." Kortni assured the six-year-old.

A few minutes into the drive, Yoongi reached in front of him to tap Taehyung's shoulder. "Rock paper scissors? Loser has to give winner a piggyback ride whenever he asks?"

Taehyung thought about the offer for a few seconds before nodding. "Let's do it." Sophia and Kortni rolled their eyes as the two men engaged in their game. Yoongi quickly won with paper, to which Taehyung responded with, "Best two out of three?"

This went on for the duration of the ride, Taehyung constantly asking for more chances. Kortni leaned over to quietly speak to Sophia. "I'm dating a literal child."

"I'm married to one," Sophia retorted, the two women giggling afterwards.

They arrived at the Iguana Farm not much later, and the kids couldn't wait to pet and feed the iguanas, except for one. "It's gonna get me!" Caleb exclaimed, looking at one particularly large iguana as he hid behind Kortni's leg and gripped onto the hem of her denim skirt.

"Don't worry, Caleb, it's not gonna get you." Taehyung crouched down in front of the worried preschooler as Kortni ran her fingers through his hair to calm him down. "See?" Taehyung gently pet the head of the iguana before bringing his other hand, the one with the food for the iguanas, up for the animal to eat from. After watching his father, Caleb was more comfortable being around the iguanas, but still insisted on holding his mother's hand the entire time. Once they finished up at the Iguana Farm, it was time for the tour to move on to the Monkey and Sloth Sanctuary.

Jin and Namjoon had booked a private tour for the other six members of the family since it was cheaper than buying individual tickets for each of them. They had introduced themselves to their tour guide, Lizzy, and were now discussing what they would do once they got to French Cay. "I just want to walk around." Hoseok said. "I'm not really in the mood to spend extra money so that dinosaurs can attempt to eat me or so monkeys can climb on me."
