Colby - 3Jungkook was greeted with the sound of tiny footsteps rushing towards him as he entered his home after work. "Daddy!"
"Hi, Michelle!" He greeted just as enthusiastically, scooping the five-year-old up into his arms. "I missed you!"
"I missed you too!" Michelle giggled as Jungkook propped her on his hip to carry her further into the house.
"Where's your splint?" Jungkook asked her after noticing her left arm was bare. The girl had come a long way during her years of therapy, and her new therapists after she had graduated from Kids' First had high hopes for her development in the future. While her left arm was considerably weaker than her right, she still had much better control than she had just a couple of years prior. Now her main struggles came with her fine motor development, as she still didn't have the best control of her fingers, and her hand as a whole as it still liked to lock up, preventing her from using it properly, hence the need for a splint. Michelle mumbled something, avoiding her dad's gaze. "You know we gotta wear it."
"Dada said I could take it off for a little bit."
"Of course, blame me." Seungcheol playfully grumbled as Jungkook entered their living room. "Everything's my fault." Their three-year-old son, Colby, abandoned his puzzle that Seungcheol was helping him on in order to go greet Jungkook with a hug.
Jungkook set Michelle back on the floor, instructing her to go grab her splint. "We already knew that." Jungkook teased, leaning down to press a kiss to his partner's lips.
"Dada said when you got home, I could go to kindergarten!" Michelle announced after returning from her room with her purple splint in her hand.
Jungkook chuckled a bit at his daughter's excitement as he crouched down to wrap the splint around her hand. "Not completely. Kindergarten doesn't start until next week." Michelle immediately pouted. "Tonight, we're going to meet your teacher and see your classroom!"
"The classroom that Daddy worked so hard to get for you." Seungcheol chimed in, recalling the near feral way Jungkook had reacted at the IEP meeting when the admins had informed them of their intentions to put Michelle in the special ed room as opposed to a typical kindergarten classroom.

"There is literally no reason to keep her separate from the majority of her peers!" Jungkook had exclaimed, struggling to stay calm, only managing to do so thanks to Seungcheol's hand in his.
"I understand that there is a stigma against special ed-"
"I have no stigma against it." Jungkook interrupted the principal. "Special ed stands for specialized education, which just means creating accommodations and adaptations for those who need, not shoving anyone who qualifies as 'special needs' into one classroom and ostracizing them from the community." The principal was obviously flustered by Jungkook's words. "Special education classrooms are great for those who truly need it, which are children who can't thrive in a regular classroom setting for reasons relating to cognitive or social delays. Michelle has neither of those, she just has a little trouble with one of her arms, meaning she would need help with activities requiring two hands. Putting her in the special ed room, a room that will be below her development level, would do more harm than good, so no, you're not putting my daughter in the special ed room."

"Yes, I did." Jungkook said, pressing a kiss to Michelle's thumb after getting her splint set. "Go grab your shoes and we'll get going."
"Me too, me too!" Colby exclaimed, running off to his own room. "I'm coming too!"
Seungcheol turned to Jungkook with a content sigh after their children ran off. "You ready for another one of those?" Their third adopted child was due in eight weeks, an arrival that they all had been a little bit impatient for.
"Definitely." Jungkook agreed, giving Seungcheol a more proper kiss than he'd been able to earlier with Colby in the room.
When Seungcheol pulled away, he made sure to press another kiss to the tip of Jungkook's nose. "How much you wanna bet Michelle's teacher has already heard about the fight you put up and is going to be extremely intimidated by you?"
"I bet a massage." Jungkook responded almost immediately. "It's been too long since you last gave me one." Seungcheol chuckled, agreeing to the bet as their children ran back into the room.

A young, mocha-skinned woman crouched down to Michelle's height as soon as they entered the classroom. "Hi, I'm Mrs. McCray!" She greeted, smiling gently at the five-year-old. "I'll be your teacher this year! What's your name?"
"I'm Michelle!" Michelle bounced a bit. "And these are my daddies, and that's my brother Colby, and I have a baby sister, but she's not here yet, and she doesn't have a name."
Mrs. McCray chuckled a bit. "Well, that sounds exciting." She stood up and held her hand out to shake Jungkook and Seungcheol's hands. "I'm looking forward to having your daughter in my class this year." She said sincerely. "I've already heard quite a bit."
Seungcheol snorted while Jungkook gave her a weak smile. "From the principal?"
Mrs. McCray nodded in confirmation. "Yeah, he told me you would be a 'difficult' one. But I actually find what you did admirable." Jungkook's eyes widened a tiny bit, not having expected the compliment. "My daughter has cerebral palsy too, and I can only hope that I have as much strength as you have to fight for what she needs when she reaches this age." Jungkook thanked her as she looked back down at Michelle. "Why don't you go find your desk so we can learn all about what we'll do this year?"
"Okay!" Michelle grabbed Jungkook's hand and tugged him further into the room to 'go on an adventure', Seungcheol trailing behind with Colby's hand in his.
