Jungkook lay on his stomach on his bed, head towards the foot of it as he attempted to work through his chemistry homework packet. Amelia was sitting up against his pillows and Yugyeom was sitting on the floor at the end of the bed, both of them also working on various homework assignments. After five minutes of staring at the same problem, Jungkook groaned and threw his pencil onto the ground beside his bed. "I give up. Who actually needs chemistry anyway?"

"Anyone going to college for anything chemistry related." Amelia answered, shooting him an innocent smile when he glared over his shoulder at her.

"Well that's not me, therefore I don't need it." He made a show of pushing the packet away from him.

Yugyeom chuckled at his best friend, setting his own homework to the side. "Let me see it." He took the chemistry packet from Jungkook and began to help him work through the balancing equations worksheet until a knock sounded on the door.

The door opened slightly to reveal Jin. "How's the homework coming?"

"It sucks~" Jungkook's comment was met with Amelia's pink socked foot lightly kicking him.

"Sounds about right." Jin played along. "Just wanted to see if you two are staying for dinner."

Amelia sat up a little straighter at the mention of food. "What are you making?"

"Roasted spaghetti squash~"

Amelia's face morphed into curiosity while Yugyeom's morphed into disgust. "Thank you for the offer, and as much as I love you shoving vegetables down my throat," Jin playfully rolled his eyes at his youngest son's best friend, "I'm actually going over to Marianne's house for dinner."

Jungkook bit his lip and buried his face in his homework at the mention of the other 17-year old's girlfriend, hoping that no one would look at him. "Well I would love to stay for dinner." Amelia said, although Jungkook was barely paying attention at this point, focusing too much on not letting his feelings show on the outside.

It was another ten minutes of working on homework before Yugyeom gathered his things up to leave, and it was at that point that Jungkook fell deeply into his thoughts. He was completely oblivious to anything going on outside of his mind until a sharp pain in his butt brought me back to reality. "Ow!" He yelped, reached back to rub the sore area and looking at Amelia who he knew was the culprit. "What the hell?!"

"I've been trying to get your attention for five minutes! I was going to ask you a question about our history homework." Jungkook sat up and moved to lean against his pillows next to Amelia while the 16-year-old took a closer look at his face. "You okay? You seem kind of...glum."

Jungkook scoffed. "What? Of course, I'm okay. Maybe you're the one who's kind of glum." Amelia's eyebrows furrowed at that, but before she could press on, Jungkook was grabbing his sketchpad from his bedside table. She decided to drop it for the moment, knowing better than to disturb the teenager when he was drawing.
