Jungkook - 19Namjoon entered his and Jin's shared bedroom after a long day of work, softly smiling at the sight of Jin sitting up in bed with his glasses on as he worked on his laptop. Jin looked up as he sensed Namjoon's presence and smiled back at him. "Hey, welcome home~" Namjoon just let out a small groan in response as he unbuttoned his shirt. "Long day?"
Namjoon nodded. "The longest. I think I visited at least five different new homes today on top of my regular ones." Namjoon finished changing into his pajamas and climbed onto the bed with Jin.
"Still understaffed?" Jin asked as Namjoon moved to sit behind him, wrapping his arms around his waist and nuzzling his face in the crook of Jin's neck as he nodded. Jin reached back to pat his head as he responded. "I'm sure they'll hire some new case workers soon."
"Hopefully~" Namjoon mumbled into Jin's neck before adjusting his head to rest his chin on his shoulder. "We're nearing 100 kids in the foster system just in Faulkner County, which is the highest it's been in years." Namjoon sighed dejectedly before tightening his grip on Jin. "But enough of that, how was your day? What are you working on?"
"It was good, although we got a new kid last week that makes three-year-old Jimin seem like a perfect little angel who wouldn't hurt a fly." Jin shook his head at the thought of the girl that Sophia had nicknamed the demon spawn, although she never said that to or around the kid. "Sophia's been struggling with her, but hopefully we can get her calmed down a bit soon. And right now, I'm making a flyer to let the parents know that we have a zookeeper coming next week with a couple of birds for the kids to see." Jin closed his eyes and took a deep breath as he paused in his typing. "Let's just hope that none of the kids try to get too friendly with the birds."
Namjoon chuckled as he nuzzled into Jin's neck again. "If you're not careful you might end up with a few fingerless kids."
"Don't forget the inevitable lawsuit~" Jin laughed with Namjoon as the younger began to press kisses to the skin right below his ear. Jin allowed him to place a few kisses, enjoying the feeling, before lightly pushing him away. "Alright, I gotta finish this and then maybe we can do a little more." Jin looked over his shoulder and smiled at Namjoon, who leaned in and pressed his lips to his for a few seconds.
Namjoon was content with just holding Jin, his chin resting on the older's shoulder as he watched him finish and eventually save the flyer to print off when he got to the center the next morning. As soon as the document was saved, Namjoon reached forward to close Jin's laptop for him. "Someone's eager~" Jin teased him as he leaned over to set his laptop on the bedside table.
Namjoon didn't bother to respond to the teasing, instead he chose to lie down, wrapping his arms around Jin and pulling him down to lay his head on his chest. "I just want to hold you~" He murmured into Jin's hair, pressing a kiss to the top of his head soon after. "Like I said, it was a long day."
They held each other closely, their foreheads touching as Jin rubbed Namjoon's back and Namjoon brushed his fingers through Jin's hair. Their lips met every so often, so they could share a short, sweet kiss, but never progressed past that as they just enjoyed being in each other's presence. The silence that had fallen over them was eventually broken as Namjoon asked a question that seemingly came out of nowhere. "Have you ever thought about taking in foster kids again?"
