Jin stopped once he got to the beginning of the trail, turning around and playfully glaring at Namjoon as he took his sweet time walking over from where they parked the car. "Hurry up, you lazy bum! I'd like to make it to the falls and back by lunch time!"

Namjoon sighed and picked up his pace slightly, finally making it to his boyfriend. "Remind me to never let you pick our dates again." Jin had mentioned before that since the older two boys were finally on summer vacation and that their schedules would no longer be as demanding, he would like to branch out from just the basic movie and dinner dates that he and Namjoon had been going on on a nearly weekly basis. With that, Namjoon had told him that the first official weekend of summer would be Jin's weekend to pick whatever he wanted to do. The 24-year-old had chosen to go to Petit Jean and visit one of the more difficult hiking trails, and Namjoon was now regretting giving Jin so much power.

Jin pouted as Namjoon stood in front of him, wrapping his arms around the slightly taller male's neck. "But it's been forever since I've seen Cedar Falls!" Jin hadn't been on that trail since his freshman year of college when he took his then girlfriend there. She hadn't been from Arkansas and he wanted to show her some of the best sights the state had to offer. She didn't see the same appeal he did as she spent the entire hike complaining about how they had to walk down to the falls instead of being able to just drive. That relationship didn't last very long. "And you love nature!"

Namjoon leaned forward slightly to peck the tip of Jin's nose before responding. "Yes, I do love nature, and normally I would be all for hiking down to the falls. But it's really hot and humid and I'm feeling slightly guilty because of the looks Jimin and Jungkook were giving us when we left them behind." Jin knew that there would be no way he could ever go to Petit Jean without bringing the boys, so they had made arrangements. Jin's mother came along and was currently keeping the boys (and Holly and Mickey as Yoongi and Hoseok insisted on bringing their puppies with them) occupied at the picnic area while Jin and Namjoon enjoyed their date, and the entire family would enjoy a lunch of hot dogs once the two returned. Jimin and Jungkook had yet to come to terms with the fact that Jin and Namjoon would be going on hiking trails without them and made it completely obvious how sad they were when the couple had parted from the group for their date. "I know this date day, but couldn't we have brought them along? I don't like it when they're sad."

Jin felt his heart swell with love at how Namjoon cared so much for the boys, and he couldn't help but imagine what Namjoon would be like in the future when they were married and Namjoon would officially be the boys' father. However, Jin had to push down those thoughts in order to respond to Namjoon's question. "Taehyung hurt himself on the Rock House Cave trail last year, and that's one of the easiest trails on this mountain. I want to wait until they're a little older before bringing them on this trail." He pulled Namjoon closer to him so that their chests were nearly pressed against each other. "Plus, Cedar Falls is one of my favorite places ever and it's romantic and I want to share that with you."

A smile slowly spread across Namjoon's face and he leaned his head forward so their foreheads were pressed against each other. "You just don't know what you do to me." He whispered before lightly pressing his lips to Jin's.

When they parted, a bright smile on Jin's face, he took Namjoon's hand in his and intertwined their fingers, tugging him towards the trail. "Come on, let's go~"

They went down the trail hand in hand, carefully navigating the steepest and rockiest areas so as to not injure themselves. They paused every so often to take pictures of the beauty around them, and in Namjoon's case the beauty next to him. They even made friends with a Basset Hound they passed by on their way to the falls, spending a considerable amount of time just petting him and conversing with his owner before continuing on their way. When they finally made it to the falls, Jin wasted no time in leading Namjoon to the small cavern nestled behind the waterfall, wanting to show his boyfriend just how magical it was back there. Jin never believed that anything could be more magical than standing behind a waterfall, the roar of the rushing water seemingly cutting them off and protecting them of the stress and evil that plagued the world outside. But he was proven wrong as Namjoon pulled him in for a surprise kiss, his hands gently caressing his cheeks, handling him as if he was the most precious treasure in the world, and to Namjoon he was. After they pulled away, and when Jin regained his breath, they left the small cavern and made their way back down towards the small area of water that people were currently swimming around in so that they could go back up to the trail to return to the picnic area for lunch. Plans changed though as Namjoon stepped on a particularly slippery rock and fell into the water, not without taking Jin with him as he'd instinctually grabbed onto him as he was falling.

"Namjoon!" Jin playfully scolded as they got over the shock of falling into the water. Jin forgot what he was going to say though, too busy laughing along with Namjoon at the situation. As they calmed down, Namjoon swam closer to Jin and wrapped his arms around his waist under the water. "We're going to get your car soaked." Jin informed him, wrapping his own arms around Namjoon.

Namjoon shrugged. "Shit happens~" Jin burst out laughing at Namjoon's choice of words but was soon cut off by Namjoon's lips on his.

Jin felt his cheeks heat up as that was the first time they had kissed in a public place. In fact, the only times they had kissed in front of people had been the few times that had shared quick kisses in front of the boys, so this was a big jump from their normal comfort zone. Namjoon pulled away as a group of teenage girls started squealing about how "cute gay couples are", and Jin immediately covered his face, feeling too flustered to do anything else.

Namjoon chuckled at how cute he found the action, once again feeling like the luckiest guy in the world for somehow managing to get Jin to fall for him. "I think it's time we head back for lunch." Namjoon suggested, and Jin slowly pulled his hands away from his face, nodding in agreement before following Namjoon out of the water and back up to the trail.
