Chapter 29: Its just the Student Council President

As I work my way up the stairs, a person becomes more and more visible as the person come into view.

A girl standing at the peak can be seen, it seems like she was waiting for someone as she guards the door that has access to the rooftop.

At the time I reached the middle of the stairway, with the both of us now in complete view.

As I looked up from below and her looking down on me from above. I stared at her and she stared at me back.

The moment, our eyes met... It felt like the world got slower for a single second.

The appearance of the girl seems familiar.

As the wind blew her dark silky long hair on the air from the gust of wind coming from the broken window. And deep blue ayes as the ocean. With two small flower shaped ornaments clipped at separate sides of her bangs with gangling rectangle shaped that looked like a bookmark.

With the air she gave just from standing with her arms crossed. She gave of the of the impression of a mature and dignified woman.

Her height is as tall as mine so she's taller and surpasses the average height of the girls in our age.

And that mature dignified lady was...

It's the president of the student council! [Still warry of the student council being a cult for taking his sword on the first day.]

Yes, it was the student council president "Shiori Hikaruno"....

"Hey you, this place is off limits. No one should be aloud here"

For now let's act dumb until we know her motives.

"Ah-, s-sorry!" side character acting on*

Why is she here?... Did she come here to catch Phantom!?.. Why else would anyone wait there in front of my secret base.

This side of the building is practically abandoned so there was no reason for anyone to go here. It could only come up and conclude with this being an ambush.

"Then state what have you come here for"

She said with intimidation in her eyes.

"Uhm, I came here to eat lunch... see."

I showed her the lunchbox along with other stuff that I was holding.

For now let's play it off that I didn't know anything about this place(secret base).

"Not in the rooftop I assume"

Again, said it with intimidation in her words.

"Oh, No No No! I came here to eat my lunch just sitting in the stairs, I only came here because Its quiet" [Technically wasn't a lie]

That was close, I almost revealed to her I enter the secret base frequently. She might connect it with Phantom.

"Fine, go ahead. But only in the stairs. And no going to the rooftop. Got that?"

"Y-Yes... Thanks..."

With her permission, I took a seat on the stairs and opened my lunchbox as promised.

Luckily she let me eat here, I really don't want to go back to eat in the classroom.

As I sat there already eating my lunch, I asked senpai a question.

"So senpai, why're you guarding the rooftop?" Asked while eating*

Let's find out her true motives. This could be an ambush to catch me... It's to catch me right? Right?...

The reason I called her senpai was, here, in Hokkyokusei High, there's a color coding system to identify which year level we're in. We wear color coded ribbon for the girls and neckties for the boys. The first years have the color blue while the second years wear red and the third years wears black.

"Before the summer break we keep getting reports that there's a weirdo keep coming in and out of the rooftop during lunch break"

"A weirdo?" Still eating*

So it wasn't me...?

"Yes, do you know anything about it?"

I put my hand in my chin, tilted my head thinking deeply about the matter about the weirdo.

Hmm... the only person I know who enters in and out of the rooftop was me so who could that other person be... Is the weirdo actually a spy that was sent to collect information about Phantom?!...

Now that I think about it, recently I felt like I'm being watched by someone, so maybe that's the guy the student council was trying to catch? [The weirdo himself] Pretending to have a stalker/chuunibyou delusions*.

"No... I don't think I do"

"Are you sure? Apparently he wears this strange outfit that seemed to be a very altered version of our school uniform and overly grown bangs almost covering all of his face. They said he was pretty hard to miss"

"So there's another?"

"What do you mean?"

"Oh, nothing"

Words accidentally slipped out of my mouth from thinking deeply who could the suspect be but luckily senpai didn't pay much mind to it.
