Chapter 77: Who Sent You?

When the smoked cleared out, a boy in red and black clothing was standing at the center of the stage. Striking your typical chuunibyou pose, he opened his mouth and said to everyone who's watching.

"I am, Phantom! The hero who lurks in the shadows."

He claimed himself as the anonymous guy named 'Phantom'. The masked male model in that one photoshoot with Haruka-san, the top rising idol.

"It's the Phantom guy! He rally came!"

"The anonymous guy with Haruka-san? You mean in that monthly idol issue magazine?!"

"Doesn't that mean he really does goes to our school?! So Hidetoshi Fumisai was telling the truth!?"

The crowd got rilled up as they gossip about the anonymous guy 'Phantom', the guy that got featured in the photoshoot with Haruka-san the idol.

Unbeknown to Yukiya Saito, Phantom was the talk all over social media. For being featured in that one magazine with Haruka Fujisato, it has really gain conspiracies on who could the person behind the mask be. It might be a mysterious celebrity or a totally new comer. But who knows.

While everything is happening, Yukiya Saito was in his own world thinking to himself.

Kukuku, that was probably my best entrance to yet ..I'm so glad I brought my smoke bombs with me today. Kukuku. [This series does not promote bringing smoke bombs to school.]

Well, it's not like I bring smoke bombs with me everyday and everywhere I go. The ones that let out the most smoke was hella expensive. The only reason I brought some today was I got a feeling that something interesting might happen. And it actually did.

"So you're the Phantom guy I was hearing so much a bout."

Hidetoshi Fumidai glared at me with hostility.

I stood there thinking.

Huh? ..People talk about me?

It's not like I had that much interaction since school started l, so I was wondering what could it be about.

Thinking back on it now. Who is he anyway? I don't believe we have met before.

One more thing I was curious about was, how did he even know where to find me?

He seems like he goes to a different school. At least the one who challenged me so far in the past attends the same school as as I did.(The letter in shoe locker). So who is he?

For someone willing to go such lengths just to challenge me. There must be a special reason as to why.

Anyways, let's just deduct what's happening for now and asses the situation.

"Who sent you?"

I asked Hidetoshi Fumidai in my deep and monotonous Phantom/shadow hero character voice.

I said it in a way, as if pretending that there was a lot of big named people that was after me. Staying true to my character in my chuunibyou delusions as the enemy of the public, a vigilante shadow hero who is allied with no one that binds me.

"XxDarknessLoverxX told me I could find you here. I'm not sure how reliable the info at first, but I got you now you son of a"

DarknessLover626? ...I see. I think I get a slight grasp of the situation right now.

I smirked and thought to my self. Ah, I finally got it all figured out.

"I see... So that's how it is."

I silently smirked to myself thinking that.

So Ayaka was the one who sent him here.

You see. DarknessLover626, is Ayaka's pen name. ...I won't go in too much detail but Ayaka is the one currently using that user name.

Hidetoshi Fumidai then proceeded to state his purpose.

"I came here to test if you are worthy of being Haruka-san's partner. And to prove that I, Hidetoshi Fumidai am superior."

I put my hand to my chin trying to deduct everything that's happening so far.

I see... So the most like that happened was. Ayaka tried bragging about me of how cool her brother was. Then this Hidetoshi Fumidai guy overheard her talking and tried to deny that I am the coolest being that has ever existed and debated arguing that he was cooler person. [This didn't happen.]

So the reason he came to our school was to settle the score on who really was the cooler person.

And judging by how arrogant he acts, I can totally see this as a trait of fumidai being a chuunibyou.

There's no way someone in real life actually acts so narcissistically, right?

I nodded to myself coming up with my own assumptions.

But what has Haruka-san got to do with this?

While I was stuck standing there lost in my own thoughts, Hidetoshi Fumidai tried to catch my attention for I seemed like I was out of it.

"Hey, are you listening?"

I did not notice he was already speaking to me.

"Ah, sorry. You look so insignificant that I forgot to listen. Can you repeat that again?"

I said as if looking down at him as I speak.

I was tryin to answer his narcissistic attitude with my arrogant shadow hero act, as the all powerful and mysterious character known as Phantom.

"Why you-?!"

Hidetoshi's temper almost seemed to burst but remembered that he has a public image that he needs to preserve.

Calm down. I can just pay him back later ten fold once the we begin the competion.

Grinding his teeth in anger, he ominously smiled and promised that.

I'll definitely humiliate him in front of everyone for this. I'll show to the world who's the better talent fit to be by Haruka-san's side.

After calming himself down. Hidetoshi Fumidai officially proposed the duel.

"You are the Phantom guy, correct. You may have already heard earlier. But I'll repeat it once again."

"I challenge you to a duel. Let us all see together who comes out on top."

He offered his right hand for a handshake to officially seal the deal.

"Hm.. I accept. Although I already knew the outcome."

I held his hand and officially accepting Hidetoshi Fumidai's challenge for a competition.

For some reason. I could feel a tight grip coming from him as we shake hands.

"I swear I'll definitely crush you."

Was this action perhaps hostility?

I gripped his hand with equally the same force and replied to his taunting.

"I'd like to see you try."

With an unfazed look on my face. I just smugly smiled back at him. As if saying, I can't see that thought happening, but I am willing to see you try.

Mocha-san on the audience still don't know what is going on.

And so the duel was close to begin with just after a few explanations on the rules and what competition are we competing with to decide who is superior between Fumidai and me.
