CHAPTER 60: Just picking up on being the "Perfect side character"

The next day.

I just got out of the house not too long ago, currently walking my way to school.

Yesterday, I executed my plan to be a [Generic student character] While at school.

However, it didn't work out as I hoped it would. It perform even worse than when I acted as the perfect side character the other day which I honed with Ayaka along with interactions with Haruka-san.

The reason I tried improving it as a [Generic student character] was because I started having doubts after President Shiori senpai caught on my act. That is why I tried to improving it in the first place.

However, judging by how Mocha-san, the transfer student that I get to know yesterday found out just after our meeting.

With her knowing my secret as someone not ordinary. I sought for her opinion about my facade of being a generic student character through out yesterday. But it ultimately failed judging by her disappointed reaction towards my acting.

So, yesterday night. I confess to Ayaka about what happened and what I did by acting out my night's research of being how I acted out as a generic student character, and how it failed miserably.

"What's the matter? Did anything happen in school?"

Did he already found out he looks nothing like a side character already?

She asked because she noticed I looked somewhat in deep thought as I hold my chin with one hand.

"Actually. Last night, I researched about blending in the crowds a little more and encountered this page. It's title was that characteristics of a generic student characters in a school anime setting"

So he still hasn't find out. That's a relief.

Ayaka exhales in relief.

"Actually... someone saw through my façade yesterday the reason I tried improving my act it in the first place."

"Yeah. And who's that?"

"It was none other than the student council president, the head of the cult. Ah, never mind. They're good guys now."

"Even so. The fact that she found out still remains. That was the whole reason why I tried to search for other ways to improve my side character act so no one else would."

Is what I explained to Ayaka the purpose of why I attempted other means on how to act.

"That was completely unnecessary"

Ayaka commented.

"Why so?"

I asked her for why it was unnecessary.

He'll probably be disappointed if I tell him he's imitating a main character of a romcom anime.

"B-Because your performance before was already perfect. I-It was most likely that Student Council President-san just has a high ability of foresight. She's the student council president after all, the top of the student body."
[Thought of an excuse on the spot while matching the setting.]

"Come to think of it. You were once part of your school's student body. That's probably it since they are selected individuals."

I nodded my head as if agreeing and supporting Ayaka's statement.

Ayaka is really smart so I expect that people in a position of student council might possibly be at her level.

If so, it wouldn't be strange if it turned out to be that way having the ability to see through my act.

"Y-Yeah. T, that's right. It just means she was a unique individual."

Let's just go with that for now.

"I see..."

I place my hand on my chin thinking once more. But this time, I came to a conclusion.

"I guess I'll try keeping the previous side character act to see through how it'll progress from now on. Then I'll decide if it was worth it for being the other side of being the perfect shadow hero. Hm hm"

I nodded my head thinking that should be the phat I have to take.

After that, I decided to return to how I was acting before, the one persona I showed on the first day after returning to school, with the "perfect side character" persona. The one which we refined last summer break.
