You have no idea how long it took to make this thumbnail. You should rate this and fight scenes out of ten. Nothing would happen if you don't, it'd just be really cool if you did.

Remember when I said I planned to update weekly? Yeah, I don't remember either. I find it funny that this story is already progressing way farther than my usual stories and the canon Steven Universe.

Arkham Steven Universe is just better. I feel like I am treating this story much like how I treat Batman Arkhamverse when comparing it to other Batman media. Basically what I said for Arkhamverse is it just portrays most characters to their max potential (Batman for the most part).

Same thing could be said for this story, most definitely Steven, since he starts the story off with all powers. I want to address that this Steven is meant to be unaffected by a lot of things, but that doesn't mean he can't feel emotions or express them. He can cry or laugh or get mad without it having a long term effect on him.

That being said, I don't want people to feel like it's unrealistic for Steven to not be affected by the horrors around him in this story. Mostly because a big part of this AU is that Steven isn't traumatized by the things around him, and that's what makes this story unique. I also mentioned that a very strong human resilience is possible.

You Google it, it's possible. However, having a strong resilience can also be a bad thing. Because it makes the person feel confused and not understanding when someone else is freaking out or stressed out. It makes an interesting dynamic where Steven isn't the one stressed out, and everyone else is.

Sort of like how it was in the show where everyone didn't understand where Steven's outbursts and anger issues came from (even though it was obvious). But in this story, the opposite can happen where Steven doesn't understand why the Crystal Gems are stressed and some of them are having panic attacks. It would make an interesting perspective between Steven and the others.

So, without further ado, let's start this very prolonged and delayed chapter.

Steven's P.O.V.

I was outside, looking up in the sky, wondering where Homeworld is. The whole facade of Rose Quartz and Pink Diamond is upsetting, but not too upsetting. It explains how I has so many powers, but it feels weird that I may be related to the alien dictators known as the Diamond Authority.

How common is it to say that you've almost been killed by alien relatives? If I told someone that isn't a gem or doesn't know my lineage, they might call Arkham and say they have patient out on the loose. This is all like some sort of vivid fever dream.

I hope that maybe I could convince them to be more peaceful. I'm not asking to live with them as a family, because that just can't happen. Not that I would not want to, because personally, I would live with them, because they're family, right?

The reason why it can't work is because the Diamonds don't know how a family is supposed to work, and it might be mega awkward to live with someone who you tried to kill. The thing is, I personally don't think the Diamonds are evil. I can hear you judging me right now, 'why would you say that?! The Diamonds are pure evil!"

They look like that on the outside, and yes, to an extent, they're bad, but I wouldn't say evil. The Diamonds are like businessmen, they didn't colonize the planets just for the sake of it, they were just expanding their empire and growing more resources for them and wanted more results. At best, you can call them greedy businesswomen who take capitalism to heart.
