I mean, it's mostly the law of Arkham Games psychics, since that's the gimmick of the games.
3rd Person P.O.V.
Everyone that wasn't Steven or the Gnome King felt frozen. He basically asked to remove something that is his defining trait - physically speaking.
"Hmm..." The Gnome King scratched his chin through his white beard. "I don't see why not. But are you aware of the fact that you would be giving up your powers and capabilities as a gem - you would be no different from your human friends."
"I do." Steven nodded solemnly while looking very grim - or tired.
"Do you want to think about it some more?" Gnome King inquired as he raised an eyebrow. "Because once I grant you the wish, there would be no way to undo it."
He looked behind him and saw White Diamond looking at him with concern with some other gems behind her sharing similar expressions.
"Give me a moment." Steven told the Gnome King before walking over to the worried group.
"Steven, what are you doing?" White Diamond asked with sky-rocketing anxiety.
"This is something I've been wanting to do for a long time, you know that." Steven replied, being very tranquil. "But before I do that, I need to do a few things first."
The first thing he did was make sure everyone in the Crystal Gems was okay and fine, also healing Peridot's gemstone and Connie's jaw. And when that was done, he went back to the Gnome King, but White pulled on his arm.
"Steven... are you sure this is what you want?" White Diamond asked softly, hiding her insecurity and consternation. "Much like what he said, there's no way to undo this."
"Yes." Steven nodded serene.
He looked back at the Gnome King.
"Do it."
The Gnome King lifts his hand up and then Steven feels his gem being yanked out of his body. He involuntarily clutched his abdomen in pain. But the pain only lasted for a moment before the Gnome King ensured he would survive this, turning him from a Diamond/human hybrid to a fully fledged human being.
He holds the gemstone in his palms so delicately. While he held the gemstone in his hands, White Diamond made sure Rose didn't try crawling away by stepping on one of her legs and keeping her sneaker on it to keep her pinned.
"Well, that's it." Gnome King dusted his hands. "I trust you'll figure out what to do with that delinquent over there."
