rosechuck_chuckA fact that may not really be 'fun' is that Arkham Steven really HATES Diamond Spinel AU.
White Diamond's P.O.V.
If there was anything I got from my first experience in combat and out on the field, it was humiliating... Very, cold humiliation. My, stars... I was frozen in an ice-block. If anyone else saw that, I would shatter myself right here.
I will make the little man pay, that's if Steven doesn't hurt him enough already. On a more positive note, I am starting to like my new appearance on my form. These 'sneakers' as Steven calls them are better footwear than my last pair.
They're partially comfortable, the padding inside them gives my feet a nice feeling. I can actually run in these, and not have to feel the strap tugging between my toes. Currently, me and Steven are traveling to get to the Industrial District, that's where the next trade is going on for the weapons.
Traversal is... difficult. Since Steven isn't carrying me, I have to keep up with him. I have to use this grapple gun to shoot a hook up high and hope it catches onto something and does not fall back down and bonk my head... for the third time.
Seriously, these things require a specific type of training before you can use it. These are a safety hazard! I still wished that the manual that came with this had some sort of training advice and instructions to heed.
I wanted to ask Steven to continue carrying me, but I think he would see me as a whiner, and I'd hate to make him see even more of me. He already sees me as a failure, being a whiner would plummet my last chance of redemption. I would have to take the pain, and keep moving forward.
I'm sure Steven has suffered far worse than me, considering he has some bruises on his skin, and his clothes are ripped and torn. They're covering most of his body, but you could see dozens of exposed skin that usually has wounds on it, or bruises. Stars, somebody stabbed his leg?!
The most eerie part of it is that he doesn't show any discomfort in his body. I wonder if he can still feel his wounds, or have grown numb to them. If he takes more battle damage this evening, he might as well change his clothes before he has nothing left on his back.
We finally reached the Industrial District courtyard, and yet again, Huge Gigantacus was there. However, we were too late as he was leaving. I suppose he knew we would be coming after his first two deals going wrong.
But regardless, his weapons are still here, and must be destroyed.
"Why don't you handle this one on your own? I'm still shaken from being frozen."
I was partially truthful with my words. While I'm still feeling cold, the main reason why I insist on him doing this himself is so I can learn from him, as well as I don't get in his way again. I want to be like him.
Did you notice my word choice? I said I want to be like him, not become him. There's no way I could ever replicate him, he's too extraordinary to replicate. But, if I can study how he handles a situation, and how he attacks enemy gems, maybe I can be like him in my way.
Everything he does, it's for the right reason. So, if I act like him, I can atone for my awful behavior and make the right choices, right? I know it'll be impossible to eradicate my long list of sins in one night, but I can make a good impression before morning... hopefully
