Some warning: there's alcohol in this chapter. I know it seems small, but I've met people who are sensitive about alcohol, so in case you're one of them, this is your warning.

Yeah, not the best thumbnail, but I figured it sort of gives it an eerie vibe when you realize that there's nothing but the flag left.

Also, Moonlight canonically looks similar like this in the story:

But this isn't my drawing, nor is it actually Moonlight. This is actually White Diamond in a Steven Universe AU called No Home on Archive of Our Own. Moonlight is inspired by this White Diamond, but she has different powers and her gem placement is at her chest.

Here's the picture of the story:

Yeah, Steven is so tiny towards her

As Steven and Moonlight were falling, Moonlight closed her eyes and accepted death. She knew for a fact that both Steven and her don't have anything on them that could prevent them from falling to death. Or so it seemed for her.

Steven has the ability to float safely down and not die from fall damage, but Moonlight could poof from impact and her gem could break, still hitting the ground hard from the height and breaking. Or if she simply falls gem-first on the ground. Steven dived bomb towards her, wrapping his arms around her waist.

This contact did not go unnoticed by Moonlight, who opened her eyes from the sudden touch from his hands at her lower body.

"Huh...?" She blushed purple.

With Steven holding onto her, they both stopped free falling and were slowly floating down to the ground. Moonlight didn't like this new feeling that started when she was being cradled and accidentally hits Steven's face with the back of her head, causing him to make them fall down to the ground all the way. Luckily, they both weren't too high and they landed on the ground without any injuries, and Steven lands on Moonlight to break his fall.
