3rd Person P.O.V.
In White Diamond's room, both Pink and Black chat some more - mostly about their past and how they coped with their issues. But their conversation was abruptly cut when White finally came inside and then it was dead-silent.
"Pink..." White's voice became low mostly from shock. "I see you've met Black..."
"We did..." Pink softly replied. "I came by to talk to you."
"You did?" White Diamond closed the door behind her.
"I wanted to apologize about earlier..." Pink looked down and her hands behind her back. "I was just angry about... everything, just emotional baggage that was never expressed. And the thought of you stealing my son from me..." She hugged herself. "I felt like he doesn't love me much since I was gone for most of his life and you were the one taking the role..."
White approached her and put her hands on her shoulders. "Oh Pink, Steven never loved you less. He always loved you his entire life and wanted nothing more than to see and hug you. It's just complicated for him to share that love after all the time we spent together. If you want, I can stop seeing him if that helps him spend more time with you."
"No, I don't want to forbid him from seeing you. That's not right, or fair." Pink shrugged her shoulders to make White take her hands off her.
"Steven should decide who to look up to as his mother. And he should choose you, because you've given birth to him." White replied.
"But he has openly admitted that he views you as a mother, even more than me." Pink added on, her tone sounding sad. "He would rather have you as a mother."
"We need to let him decide that, not me or you." White Diamond said, gesturing for the door. "Come on, let's go see what he thinks."
"You think it's a good idea to do it now? Only an hour or two after me punching him in the face?" Pink asked, kind of wincing internally due to how blunt she put it.
"Maybe not, but it's better to get it over with. After all, we're not in immediate danger and there's nothing that would stop us from asking him." White jokes, almost smiling.
"Don't say that, because then you end up predicting something." Pink joked back, sharing a similar smile. "I suppose we should get this done, better to clear the air or whatever the saying is."
They went to the door, to which White looked back at Black and gestured for her to follow - making sure she wasn't excluded or left behind. The three Diamonds stride to the main Palace room, where the new generation of Crystal Gems congregate and discuss random things - and for some reason, a bucket was not too far from them.
