3rd Person P.O.V.

One Week Later:

Things were back to normal, kind of. Homeworld is currently going through the changes of Era-3. These changes were very different and unusual for Homeworld gems, even the Diamonds.

White Diamond is the only one who is doing all the work when it comes to law changing and liberating the colonies. Yellow Diamond is still too shameful to even be physically present to any announcements and speeches due to her having to use a cane to travel. Blue Diamond has no idea what to do, because White Diamond is doing everything, leaving her to do nothing but watch.

White Diamond did a lot during the week. She spent five days overwriting Homeworld rules and laws, making sure they're a lot more fair and reasonable than some of the old ones. The punishments were changed a lot.

Most offenses resulted in life-imprisonment or execution, but those were only for the most pettiest reasons. An example of this is insulting a Diamond, whether in front of them or behind their back would result in death as punishment. But those laws do not exist anymore.

Most petty crimes and offenses will now result in fines, the cost is dependent on how severe they were. For example, disobeying a commanding officer would cost a gem 25 Jewels. Execution is still a punishment, but only for the worst crimes.

Nobody knows what crimes would give criminals execution yet, but they do know it exists. Aside from working tirelessly for the past five days, White Diamond made some very big changes in her life to improve her conduct. One of them is she made the decision to permanently be small enough to be 'human-sized' as she likes to call it.

Yellow and Blue Diamond don't approve of her change of size, but they aren't going to say it to her face, because despite White Diamond trying to be good, they weren't going to risk her ire. The second big change White Diamond did was freeing her pearl from her mind control. You might say that it was easy, but it wasn't, actually.

She had to spend hours consoling the pearl after she missed eight thousand years and missed the 'death' of Pink Diamond, because this pearl was originally Pink's. White Diamond spent most of her work time telling her the whole story and what happened last week. White Diamond did not force the pearl to stay with her, but the pearl willingly chose to stay with her.

White Diamond asked her why and the pearl's reason was because she didn't want to risk getting a job with someone else, because being a pearl is the most paying job on Homeworld. She had also forgiven White Diamond, because she could tell White was genuinely apologetic. White was extremely grateful for her pearl's support, she truly needed it.

It does seem unlikely that she forgave the Diamond that made her a slave for over eight thousand years, but to see the great White Diamond, on her hands and knees, crying and begging for forgiveness, you can tell that she's actually sorry. The old White Diamond wouldn't even apologize and demand the pearl's forgiveness. The last big change White did is being a philanthropist.

She's doing this to help the economy balance out, because now that the colonies they once ruled is no longer giving them the relief they needed since the gem war, resources are very scarce and a lot of gems are penniless. To put in perspective how hard this was to do, here's a detailed explanation:
