The birds were singing quietly outside my window, like something you'd see at the start of a romantic film. Typically, it was ruined the second I turned my head to see the clock. 'Shit!' I shouted before proceeding to fall flat on my face as I fell out of bed.

'Shit, shit, bugger!' I chanted as I ran around my room, trying to find a pair of jeans, jumper and socks that weren't dirty, though that was all that littered the floor.

'Sweetheart? Are you up yet?' called my mum from the bottom of the stairs.

'You didn't hear me falling out of bed?!' I shouted back through the closed door before launching myself into my closet, desperately throwing clothes everywhere in attempt to find something to wear. If it was any normal day, though they rarely happen, I would have thrown on whatever was closest but, because it was that particular day, I had to actually make an effort. For once.

'Hurry up, sweetie! You're going to be late! Again...'

'Don't think I didn't hear that, mum!' I shouted as I flung open the door, adjusting the jumper before falling down the last couple of steps of the staircase.

Trying to bite back the million swears that were on the tip of my tongue as I rubbed my backside, I peeled myself off the wooden floors before running into the kitchen.

I skidded across the floor, picking up the piece of toast left for me on the side as I passed the island, before sending a quick one fingered salute to my mum. 'Same time as usual?' I asked as I bit into the toast, holding it in my teeth as I gathered the homework that was scattered across the kitchen table into my bag.

'Not today. I've got a meeting that's going to run late so you'll have to walk back. It's about as far as school so you should be okay. Oh, and sweetheart?' she called just as I was about to leave. I raised my brows, waiting for her to finish as I tried to hoist my bag onto my shoulder. 'Give my love, will you?'

I nodded quickly before lunging out of the house. 'Honey!' My mum called after me again, causing me to turn round in frustration, thankful for the piece of toast still in my mouth otherwise I probably would have sworn at her. She grinned at me before turning back to focus on making her own breakfast. 'Your jumper's on the wrong way round.'

Looking down with furrowed brows, I saw the top of the label sticking out at the collar of the jumper. 'Shit!' I moaned around the toast, earning a glare from my mother before I slammed the door shut, not even bothering to chew my food properly before I was running down the pavement to school; trying to fiddle with my jumper whilst trying to avoid being run over by the new neighbour.

'Screw it!' I shouted before dropping my bag to the floor. Not caring who was around, I quickly stripped myself of my jumper, feeling the cold on my bare stomach as my strappy top rode up with it, before twisting it round so it was the right way.

'You do know that stripping in public isn't allowed, right?'

I turned to see Noel Kahn grinning from the inside of his car. 'Do you know that perving on girls in the middle of the street is considered creepy?' I mimicked, sending him an icy glare before picking up my bag and walking forwards.

'If you were nice to me, I'd offer you a lift,' said Noel as he followed alongside me; his eyes never leaving my body, though I wasn't looking at him to make sure. 'Though, I'm sure I could overlook your nasty behaviour if you offered something in return.'
