12 Years Old

"Can you relax? You're acting like a bloody Hufflepuff," Severus groaned.

I smacked his arm in annoyance but immediately continued to hop in place excitedly. We were on the platform of 9 ¾ and I was waiting for the boys to arrive. I absolutely missed them. I probably won't tell them that but I truly did.

"What're you so excited about?" Lily asked, appearing next to me now.

"LILY!" I gasped and she laughed as we hugged each other tightly.

We haven't seen each other all summer. Severus and I were on house arrest for going to Hogwarts to begin with. Father was ... very angry to say the least. On the other hand our Mother was more out of it than ever before.

Lily released me and she quickly gave Severus a nod who returned it in greeting.

"She's excited to see her poor excuse of friends," Severus replied coolly.

"I will never understand how you get along with those fools," Lily commented. "Merlin especially Potter. That boy is a piece of work."

"I agree but I don't know. We just click. We have a lot of fun-"

"Getting detention every week is not fun," Severus snorted. He rolled his eyes and said, "it's ridiculous really."

"I'm not even at Hogwarts yet and I'm already annoyed," I sighed, shaking my head. I grabbed my suitcase and said, "I'll catch up with you two later."

I began walking away and I heard Lily say, "Come on Sam. We didn't mean to upset you."

She walked side by side with me and I replied, "I know Lily but it does get annoying when I get crap for it. Like don't get me wrong I get it. The boys aren't angels sent from above but they make me happy. I didn't have the best upbringing-"

"Neither did Severus-"

"So you would think he would be understanding on why I just want to have fun. Be happy. Regardless of who it is. Besides, we're not doing anything crazy. It's just stupid little pranks," I groaned stopping in my tracks to face her.

"Ok ok I'm sorry. I get it. I just thought you would be friends with people who... aren't devil spawns," she smirked.

"Well I'm friends with you aren't I?" I smiled nudging her playfully.

"Be easy on Severus. You know how they never got along," Lily said and I released another sigh.

"I know. I try to ease the tension-"

"SASSY!"

I spun around immediately to see James Potter running towards me with the biggest grin on his face. I dropped my suitcase to the ground and ran in the direction he was coming from. We clashed hard and we practically almost fell to the ground. I actually had to tippytoe to rest my head on his shoulder.

"Merlin you got taller," I laughed as we rocked back and forth.

"And you didn't. I missed you Sassy," he mumbled running his hands up and down my back. I can feel him plant a kiss on the top of my head and I inwardly cringed.
