A/N: I'm just gonna say, if you've never watched 'Naruto: The Last' movie then you might think I made some shit up about Toneri. But uh, yeah, it's just part of the movie. Though I know he does have some appearances in Boruto. Anyways, just go with the flow is what I will say.
Also, next week will be the last week I update for the year. I will go on a brief break and return either the first or second week of January. I'm definitely gonna continue writing out the rest of the story but I'm also set on becoming a farmer on Coral Island (the game). You are not ready for bed. Your gaze remains on the empty futon that awaits your form, but you have neither the intention nor the will to dress for sleep. With Madara away, apprehension creeps in as you know that time serves as the only buffer from a mass casualty. Every second nears the world closer to a doom that frightens you. The things you can do in this situation are to stay patient and believe that your words will reach the needed people.
But the uncertainty deprives you of your slumber. As Fugaku stated, you are to wait for his word on whether he was successful or not in delaying the coup. Should you touch upon their plans, your safety will not be guaranteed and all may perish. It's easier to do nothing, to say nothing.
'Meddlesome, that is what you are.'

Their singing allures your curiosity and dances upon the heated breeze that infiltrates your room. You recall that night that you almost followed its request. Madara appeared livid upon seeing your spellbound status, but after that, the voice had been silent.
Is this the missing piece to the whole mystery? You wonder.
Mirroring your same footsteps as that night, your legs take you outside the manor. A part of your conscious hopes that Toneri would intervene.
