"I can't believe she said yes!" Amity squealed joyfully. "Luz likes me. Me!" She fell back onto her bed, hugging her pillow. There was a huge smile on her face.

She sighed dreamily, replaying the moment in her mind. The moment when Amity finally summoned the courage to ask out her crush, Luz Noceda. Luz had grinned and said yes, with excitement in her expression and voice. Then they'd held hands and smiled at each other and looked into each other's eyes.

Amity loved Luz's eyes. They were a beautiful shade of brown, and there was always clear emotion in them. At that moment, they were giddy and loving and kind. Amity could have stared at them all day, but eventually they both looked away sheepishly, grinning when they realized that they'd both been openly staring.

Amity had gotten a text from Emira a minute or so after that, saying that her parents were asking for her. She'd been disappointed, but Luz had walked her home and they'd chatted the entire way there, and it had almost felt normal.

But despite their casual chatting, there was something different in the air. Something exciting and new. Now that they'd confessed to each other, Amity was over the moon, but one question had been plaguing her mind while they walked.

What now? What were they?

She was almost afraid to ask and ruin the moment, but at the front door of Blight Mansion, as Luz was about to walk away, she'd found herself stopping her before she left and finally asking the question.

Luz had rubbed the back of her neck and asked what Amity wanted. And for her, the answer was obvious:

"I want us to be girlfriends."

Luz had unleashed her smile that could probably light up entire continents with its radiance, and agreed.

And then they'd set up their date for tomorrow at the-

Amity shot upwards, her eyes wide. Oh, Titan! I have a date with Luz tomorrow!

Her brain began shooting faster than Eda on her staff. What do I wear? What are we going to talk about? How am I going to dress appropriately if I don't even know where we're going?!

They had arranged the time, but Luz hadn't told her where they were going, wanting to surprise Amity. Which meant that they could be going anywhere from just hanging out at the Owl House to having lunch at a fancy restaurant!

Amity frantically started searching in her wardrobe in search of the perfect outfit for tomorrow.

Amity knocked on the door of the Owl House the next day, fiddling with her skirt nervously. After a lot of panicking, debate and enlisting her siblings' help (after the initial teasing), they'd eventually settled on a navy blue dress with white spots on it. It was made out of a light and flowy material, but it was long enough to reach her ankles—perfect for a sunny fall day.

"Ooooh, you look fancy," a voice said, making her jump.

"Hooty!" she scolded. "You scared me."

"Are you and Luz fiiiiinally going on a date? It's been AGES and she's been talking about you nonstop," the bird demon complained.

Amity blushed. "Well-"

She was saved from answering when the door opened, revealing the human standing in the doorway, her cheeks pink.

"Hey, Amity! Come on in!" She ushered her in, quickly closing the door behind them.

"Sorry about Hooty," she started, turning to look at her.

Amity took the chance to examine her properly. Luz had picked out an olive green jumpsuit. It had a collar, medium-length sleeves, and a golden belt around her waist. Her hair looked normal, but a bit more fluffy than usual. Her eyes were alight, bright and cheerful and optimistic.
