"Ahh! I just- don't know what to do about it!" Luz ranted, plopping down on her mattress and stuffing her face into a pillow to hide her bright pink blush. "I like Amity. Like, really like her. And I don't think I've liked anyone this much since Elijah!"
"Who's Elijah?" Gus asked.
"Human from my realm," Luz answered. "I had a HUGE crush on him in grade seven." She shook her head, seemingly blinking out of her thoughts. "But seriously, guys, help me. She's so pretty and whenever I see her smiling I just, like, short-circuit. And she's always super nice to me but I can't tell if that's just her being sweet or if she likes me back! Idon'tknowwhattodoguysI'msoconfused-"
"Uhm, Luz, I'm aroace," Willow interjected. "I don't think I'm the right person to ask for romance advice."
"Me neither, for the record. My love life is pretty nonexistent," Gus agreed.
The human girl just sighed. "It's okay. Thanks for trying to help anyway."
"Hey, no prob," Gus said, grinning.
"Yeah, you can always talk to us about stuff like this if you need to," said Willow.
Luz grinned. "You guys are the best." She sat up as the other two joined her on the floor.
They chatted for a while about random stuff like school subjects and funny childhood stories. During a pause, Willow cautiously spoke up.
"Hey, Luz?" she asked.
"Yeah?"
"Don't forget about us when you and Amity get together, okay?" she said, looking her friend in the eyes.
Luz's face morphed into one of surprise. "I could never forget you guys," she assured. "You're my best friends! I wouldn't just abandon you like that for a girl."
Willow's lips lifted in a small smile. "Thanks, Luz."
Gus looked at her, too, and they grinned at each other. "Yeah, thanks," he added.
"C'mere, guys!" Luz invited, opening her arms. The other two happily followed suit, and they all sat there in a big hug for a minute. Once they separated, they smiled at each other again. Then Luz blushed a bit.
"Wait, did you say when we get together?"
