A/N: Welcome to the oneshot with a really grand title for a short and not-that-grand piece of writing because I'm bad at naming stuff.
Luz was heading to her next class. Lunch had just finished, and she'd been quick with getting her stuff from her locker, so she had extra time.
She spotted the trademarked lilac hair of her girlfriend and decided to surprise her.
She put her books and stuff down beside her, being as quiet as she could. Then she wrapped her arms around Amity's shoulders and hugged her neck, burying her face in her shoulder.
"Hi, Luz," Amity said, a smile audible in her voice.
"Hey, hermosa." Amity turned around so they were facing each other and hugged her back, their foreheads lightly rested together. Luz grinned.
"We have some time before we have to go to class," she said.
"Yeah," Amity breathed.
"So why don't we..." Luz's face flushed. "I don't know, go somewhere else?"
Amity felt her breath catch in her throat. "Okay," she managed to say.
The two girls picked up their things, holding hands, and walked inconspicuously to a secret room that Luz had found through the troublemaker's hideout. They giggled as they put their books down on the floor and stood together, foreheads together and hands intertwined. They looked at each other and giggled, laughing for no reason at all.
"So, random question," Luz started. "If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?"
"Hmm. I'm not sure. There are lots of places on the Boiling Isles I've never visited, but I don't really feel the need to go there," Amity answered. "Anywhere in the world?"
Luz nodded, listening intently for her girlfriend's answer.
"I think I'd go to the human realm," Amity finally decided. "It sounds so exotic, and so different from the world I'm used to. Plus, I'd be able to learn more about your culture. What about you?"
Luz wrinkled her nose and thought. "Well, I've always wanted to go to Ireland. It sounds like something from a fantasy novel!" At Amity's questioning gaze, she elaborated, "It's a place in the human realm. But now that I've been to the Boiling Isles," she continued, "I dunno. I don't think I'd want to leave here except to visit the human realm sometimes."
She locked eyes with Amity. "I mean, now that I've found people that care about me, and that I care about-" she gave the other girl a quick peck on the lips, making her smile "-I don't ever want to leave any of you."
"That's really sweet," Amity said softly.
"Yours was too," Luz pointed out. Then she grimaced. "Ahh, I made the conversation deep! I'm sorry!"
"No, no, it's fine," said the witch. "I'm glad you were willing to open up to me."
She pressed a kiss to her lips, trying to pour all of her gratefulness and love into her lips. When they separated, they smiled at each other and giggled again, full of giddiness.
"We should get to class now," Amity said, stomping down her disappointment at having to leave each other.
"Oh, shoot, you're right! I totally forgot about that!" Luz hurriedly picked up her books and pulled her girlfriend out into the hall.
Amity laughed. There was never a dull moment when Luz was around.
