Perfect

I found a love

"C'mon Ams, let's go!" Luz exclaimed excitedly. Laughing, Amity let Luz take her hand and run with her into the night, half-listening to Eda's calls after them to be safe.

For me

They ran freely, farther and farther away from the Owl House until its big glass eye got swallowed by the darkness. It was as if their world had been sucked into a black hole—although the stars were still there, sharing their light with the world.

Darling just dive right in

And follow my lead

They stopped somewhere in the forest to catch their breath and recollect themselves. Amity looked up at Luz with amusement dancing in her eyes. "Come on," she said. This time she was the one to take Luz's hand and lead her out of the woods.

I found a girl

They arrived at a clearing and stepped out into the open air, hands clasped together as they took in the sky full of stars above them. It was truly a breathtaking view; yet Luz was too focused on the sight beside her to pay much attention to it.

Beautiful and sweet

Amity shifted her gaze from the sky to the girl beside her, a smile tugging at her lips when their eyes met.

I never knew you were the someone waiting for me

The moonlight bathed them in a perfect spotlight, almost as if it was all part of a play. But both of them knew better—this was way more real than any act.

Cause we were just kids when we fell in love

Not knowing what it was

Luz leaned slightly forward, her eyes not leaving Amity's, and lifted up a tender hand to tuck a stray lock of hair behind her ear. As her hand fell, Amity put her own over it to keep it on her cheek, leaning into it and finally letting a smile cross her face.

I will not give you up this time

Their heartbeats slowly sped up as they leaned closer, and closer, feeling like they were being drawn together. Their eyes closed as their lips connected in a heartfelt kiss.

Darling, just kiss me slow

Your heart is all I own

When they parted, they opened their eyes again and looked at each other: blissful, joyful, and full of love.

And in your eyes you're holding mine

Luz broke into lighthearted giggles, making Amity laugh, too. They interlocked their fingers again and let their laughter bubble up into the clouds, filling them with infectious happiness.

Baby, I'm

"Do you wanna dance?" Luz asked, grinning. Amity simply responded with a smile as she stepped into motion.

Dancing in the dark

There they were: two girls in the middle of the night, spinning and leaping together on a grassy field in the middle of nowhere. I felt just as magical as Grom night had been, but this time, they weren't dancing to fight a monster. There were no Hexside students watching them in suspense, waiting with baited breath to see if they could defeat Grom. Tonight they were dancing for each other, and the joy it brought them.

With you between my arms

During the dance, Amity decided to play some music on her scroll to accompany them. The singer's voice rang out in a sweet melody as their feet moved intricately across the grass.

We're listening to our favourite song

After dancing to a few songs, they collapsed on the grass, out of breath. Amity looked down and noticed that the outfit she was wearing had grass stains on it. She laughed. "Mom's going to be so mad," she said, a slight grin still on her face. "I probably look like a mess right now,"

When you said you looked a mess

"It's ok," she continued, smiling at Luz. "That was really fun. Thanks, Luz."

I whispered underneath my breath

But you heard it

Luz grabbed one of Amity's hands and met her eyes, her face filled with care.

"Darling, you look perfect tonight."
