Ice Cream Dream

"Where are we going again?" Amity asked curiously.

"An ice cream place!" Luz answered excitedly. "We have some great flavours, and it doesn't stare at you while you eat it, like in the Boiling Isles." She gave a little skip. "I think you'll like it."

Luz's prediction turned out to be correct. The witch was fascinated by the normal-looking ice cream and all of the different flavours. Needless to say, she asked a few questions that made some of the other customers give both of them weird looks.

"Where are its eyes?" Amity wondered. "Does it bite you? And what's 'chocolate'?"

"You've never had chocolate before?!" Luz was appalled. Chocolate was essential.

Amity shook her head. "No."

"You have to try it. It's super good."

The purple-haired teen nodded. "Okay then. I'll get that. What are you getting?"

Luz grinned. "I'm getting the cotton candy sorbet." Off of her girlfriend's confused look, she continued, "It's kind of like ice cream without dairy."

"Oh, okay." Amity smiled at her.

After they purchased their sweets, they decided to sit on the porch outside the shop, where they could eat and enjoy the scenery of the human realm.

Luz watched in excited anticipation as the witch took a tentative lick of her cold treat. Joy overtook her features, her eyes shining and her eyebrows raised and her lips curved in a delighted smile.

"This is amazing!" she exclaimed, turning her head to face Luz.

She grinned. "I know, right? My mom used to take me here all the time when I was little."

Amity beamed and went back to her ice cream, lapping it up like a cat with its water. Luz smiled tenderly and took a spoonful of her sorbet.
