Root Connection Blooper

Warning: vague description of death

A/N: Sometimes when I write, I like to make little bloopers like this (they're not usually this long, though). And since it's been a while since I last posted anything on here, I thought I might as well share it.

This takes place right after the Root Connection oneshot ends.

She cried out in pain, and as her spirit dwindled away, it was sent up into the sky to join Luz so they could be together for the rest of eternity.

Meanwhile, on Earth, the lumberjack man used their wood to carve palismen so the emperor could snarf them up.

"Nom nom nom," Belos said as he breathed in the sweet scent of the palismen. "This is very good quality. We should open a restaurant that serves these."

"Um, sir," the guard said meekly, "these are a refined taste. I'm not sure anyone would eat there."

"Ahh, and that's where you're wrong, Eureka," the emperor said. "I know of many people who love to eat wood. This would be considered divine cuisine."

"Oh, well, all right. If you say so, sir," Eureka agreed skeptically.

"Eureka," Belos said slowly and threateningly. "Are you questioning my choices as the emperor?"

Needless to say, Eureka backtracked pretty soon after that. "What? I mean, uh, of course not, sir! You are the almighty Emperor Belos and I would never question your rules or morals or choices or anything you say! I am too loyal to commit such treason!"

"Really," Belos said, with the air of a teacher regarding a student who had broken a rule. "If you were all that loyal, you would know that I am THE KING OF PALISMEN CUISINE! Guards, OFF WITH HER HEAD!"

Eureka backed away from her old teammates, who were slowly but surely advancing towards her. "Wait, wait, wait," she said, sounding panicked, for she knew that her death was near. "I-I would never! I'm too faithful!"

And then her head was removed from her body, and the other guards took her body away while Belos leaned back in his throne, satisfied.

From up above the clouds, two girls watched the scene play out with horror and incredulousness. "Whoa," Luz said. "That guy is crazy!"
