"Come on, Miss Kim, give us a smile! Your future husband wouldn't want to see you looking so serious in this picture!"
"You appear to be feeling sad?..."
"I've changed my mind about taking a picture now. Let's just head straight to the hotel instead."
"But why not take it now? He did mention he wanted you to let him know when you arrive in South Korea, so it's the perfect opportunity!"
"Suzy, please understand that I'm exhausted and just need some rest. I'll inform my fiancé myself once we get to the hotel, okay?"
Jisoo began to feel frustrated with her secretary's persistent pushiness. The constant demand from Daniel to be informed of her every move through Suzy was making her trip unbearable. It felt like she was being spied on for him at every turn. Suzy picked up on Jisoo's irritation and promptly ceased her efforts to push for a picture.
As the car navigated the streets of Seoul, Jisoo couldn't help but feel a wave of nostalgia wash over her at the sight of her home country after five long years. A bittersweet smile formed on her face as she passed by familiar places she had once visited. Suzy caught a glimpse of her boss's wistful expression and found it somewhat perplexing, as she had assumed that Jisoo would be overjoyed to return home.
"Your country is beautiful, Miss Kim! I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to accompany you this time!" Suzy exclaimed joyfully. Jisoo returned the smile at Suzy's heartfelt words.
"I'm glad you're enjoying it already...even though we've only just landed," Jisoo remarked with a hint of skepticism. Suzy pursed her lips and smiled shyly in response.
"Well, I'm enjoying the architecture, the streets look charming...I have a feeling I'll grow to love this place...just like you love your country, isn't that right, Miss Kim?" Suzy inquired with a smile. Jisoo let out a small scoff and then nodded quickly.
"Yeah," she muttered, then quickly turned her head to gaze out the window.
"If only those haunting figures from my dreams weren't here," Jisoo thought to herself, gripping her left wrist tightly.
Upon their arrival at the Shilla Stay Yeoksam Hotel in Seoul, Jisoo and her team were escorted to their designated rooms, all arranged and covered by Shinyan Financial Group. Jisoo found it challenging to conceal her identity on each reservation made by the group.
The staff at the hotel had been persistent in their attempts to uncover the identity of Nacor's CFO, but fortunately, they eventually relented after continuous efforts over the past few days. Suzy, on the other hand, was puzzled by her boss's decision to keep her identity hidden initially, but she understood that her role was to follow Jisoo's instructions without question.
"So, tonight at 8:30, you'll need to attend the welcoming lounge party that Shinyan Financial Group has arranged for us. It will be held in the lounge venue on the top floor," Suzy informed Jisoo as she checked something off on her iPad. Jisoo gave her a slight nod in acknowledgement.
