Individuals who have experienced freedom and subsequently had it taken away will always retain the memory of what it feels like to be truly free.

Her eyes reflected profound sadness, emotions she had encountered previously. These feelings served as a stark reminder of her own curse and vulnerability.

"I feel like I'm just waiting for something that will never come!"

"This sadness and disillusionment are exhausting... leaving me feeling so empty and adrift!"

"All I ever wanted was to be myself!"

"To prove to everyone that I can achieve anything and everything!"

"That I'm a strong, capable woman!"

"But look at me now!"

"This isn't the life I envisioned..." Jisoo reflected, tears streaming down her face. She was inconsolable, overwhelmed by the pain of what she had just learned from Haejun.

Jisoo curled up on the floor, hugging her knees tightly as she swayed gently back and forth. Her emotions were a whirlwind, and despite knowing that her hormones might be contributing to her turmoil, she couldn't shake the feeling that what she was experiencing was genuine. Her thoughts drifted to moments in her life that had sown seeds of doubt about Haein's true intentions from the very start. All the uncertainties that had plagued her, all the pain she endured, turned out to be valid.

"You... you put me through hell! All because of your selfishness!" Jisoo whispered angrily to herself, her expression hardening with a flicker of rage.

Hours slipped by, and Haein remained in the living room, anxiously awaiting Jisoo's emergence from Minseok's room. His friends had long since departed, taking his inebriated brother with them, leaving him alone with his swirling thoughts. The deep furrows etched between his brows were a clear sign of the turmoil he felt, tormented by the uncertainty of her reaction.

He was afraid—afraid of how she would respond to the shocking news. He feared for the love they had cultivated so quickly and the home he had always dreamed of building with her. With a soft grunt, he leaned back against the couch, feeling the weight of his worries pressing down on him.

"Please... Jisoo... please... forgive me!" he murmured to himself in a low voice, running his fingers through his hair in frustration. Just then, he heard the door to Minseok's room creak open. Instinctively, he rose from the couch, his gaze fixed on the broken woman who was cautiously closing the door behind her.

"Jisoo!" he managed to gasp, his voice thick with emotion. Upon hearing him, Jisoo immediately shut her eyes and raised her hand, signaling that she didn't want him to say anything. Haein's lips pressed into a straight line as he looked at her, his eyes filled with pain and regret.

"Please!!..." he pleaded, but she shot him a piercing look that silenced him.

"I don't want to hear anything! Just don't talk to me!" she snapped, turning away and heading toward their bedroom. Haein, desperate to explain himself and share the reasons behind his actions, sprinted up the stairs after her. Jisoo, feeling weak and overwhelmed, couldn't move quickly enough, and before she knew it, she was unable to lock the door before he reached her.
