Inner thoughts
In the dimly lit solitude of my room, I often find myself transported to vibrant, unexplored realms.
These are places where joy dances in every hue, beckoning me to stay indefinitely. But then reality tugs at my sleeve, reminding me of the manipulation at play.
A suffocating sensation of entrapment follows me wherever I go, like a poison coursing through my veins in his presence.
Haven't I learned from past mistakes? It seems not, or perhaps I just convince myself otherwise.
The urge to scream and weep is strong, but I refuse to let him see my vulnerability.
His shadow looms ominously, a constant reminder of his hold over me.
For now, I choose silence - a shield against the impending shatter, a stand against defeat. I refuse to lose.
Stepping out of her house at 8 am, Jisoo was already on her way to work. She was clad in a smart white pencil skirt paired with a light pink shirt, her beige mid-heel pumps clicking on the sidewalk as she hurried to hail a cab.
As she settled into the car, the muffled ring of her phone in her purse caught her attention. With a resigned sigh, Jisoo knew without looking that it was Haein calling. He had been incessantly trying to reach her ever since she abruptly stopped going to work a week ago.
Reluctantly, Jisoo retrieved her phone from her purse, her eyes fixed on the screen as she pondered whether to answer the call.
"What can I say... without him erupting in anger over my absence?" Jisoo pondered to herself, grappling with the impending conversation. She continued to gaze at her phone, hesitant to pick up the call. A deep sigh slipped past Jisoo's lips as she gently pressed her hand to her aching right upper arm, seeking solace in the physical touch. With her eyes closed, she attempted to shield herself from the inevitable discomfort that was bound to come.
"Please, don't be angry with me," Jisoo whispered softly to herself, a plea tinged with apprehension.
Upon reaching her destination, Jisoo noticed Hanri entering the building as well. In a fleeting moment, their eyes met, and Jisoo caught Hanri's gaze fixed on her.
"Miss Jisoo! Good morning... I'm thrilled to see you back at work!" Gyosung exclaimed cheerfully upon spotting Jisoo entering the building. Jisoo quickly returned his greeting with a small smile and a slight bow of her head.
"Haraboji, good morning... thank you. How are you?" Jisoo spoke softly, giving him a light pat on the back. Gyosung returned her gesture with a bright smile and a happy nod of his head.
"I'm good... and even better now that I've seen your face!" Gyosung exclaimed. Jisoo's eyes smiled at his words as she reached into her bag and pulled out a small brown paper bag.
