Haein shot her an annoyed glance, feeling exasperated by both her and her daughter, Goeun. He gripped the door handle tightly, his expression heavy with disappointment.
"Haein, we need to have a conversation! Tell your rude assistant to stay out of this!" Hyuna said firmly, her voice resolute. Hanri glared at the woman, attempting to block her path as she moved toward Haein's office.
"Sajangnim! She just walked in here without any authorization! I was trying to explain to her that she can't just burst in like this!" Hanri exclaimed, her frustration evident as she addressed her exasperated boss. Haein let out a heavy sigh, his eyes closing briefly as he braced himself for the impending headache.
"Hyuna, I'm really sorry, but I can't meet with you right now—I have an important meeting in thirty minutes. Please, just leave!" he replied in a frigid tone, moving to close the door. But before he could, she called out sharply, stopping him in his tracks.
"DON'T YOU DARE DISREGARD ME AS YOUR SENIOR, HAEIN! IS THIS HOW YOUR PARENTS RAISED YOU? TO SHOW DISRESPECT TO YOUR ELDERS?" she shouted, her eyes blazing with indignation. Her words were a deliberate jab at his upbringing, and Haein met her fiery gaze with a steely stare. It was clear she had struck a nerve, and a flicker of satisfaction crossed her face.
Haein then glanced at Hanri, silently signaling her that it was alright to step back.
"Just let me know when he arrives," he said calmly to Hanri. She bit her lip slightly and offered a respectful nod before stepping aside.
"Yes, Sajangnim!" Hanri replied, casting a pointed glance at Hyuna before exiting. Hyuna stood her ground, unfazed by the look, and simply looked away. Haein let out another sigh and gestured for Hyuna to come into his office. A smile spread across her face as she quickly stepped inside. He shut the door behind her and made a beeline for the alcohol cabinet, feeling the weight of stress settle on him just from her presence.
"What do you want now?" he asked, pouring himself a drink. Hyuna watched him intently, shaking her head in disbelief at his actions.
"Drinking already? What a fine example of a man!" she retorted boldly. Haein tightened his grip on the bottle, irritation bubbling within him as he squeezed his eyes shut to rein in his anger. Noticing his stoic demeanor, Hyuna sauntered over to the couch near the alcohol stand, clearly unfazed.
