I woke up, I really didn't want to go to school. I checked my phone and Marcus texted me.

Marcus: Good morning. Even though you hate mornings.

Me: You're right, I hate mornings. I just woke up. I want to go back to bed.

Marcus: Cheer up.

Me: You know I can't do that when I have to wake up at 5:30 every morning.

Marcus: Fair enough. Need a ride?

Me: Sure.

Marcus: Cool. Be there at 6:30.

Me: Cool.

I got out of bed, getting ready and eating breakfast.

"Marcus is taking me to school today." I said as Delaney came into the kitchen.

"Okay. Are you guys good again?" Delaney asked.

"We're getting there I think. I'm just afraid Mary's gonna pull too much shit." I said.

"Just ignore her. She's a sophomore who's desperate." She said.

"Name one who's not." I said.

"You. Marcus. Lynette." She said.

"Marcus is a slight desperate." I said.

"And that's what makes you guys best friends. Now ignore that fat ass bitch and be best friends with your best friend again. I'll see you later." She said, hugging me as she left.

It was 6:35 and Marcus pulled in the driveway. He had his permit, so he had to have his brother with him.

I got in the car, sighing.

"Hey Zoey! How are you?" Marcus's brother Dylan said.

Dylan was like a big brother to me. Him and Delaney liked each other, they talked everyday.

"I'm fine. You?" I asked.

"I'm good. Marcus you need to put the car in reverse, if you put it in drive you're gonna smash into Zoey's garage." He said.

I laughed a little. Marcus was never the best driver.

We got to school and it started instantly raining. I didn't bring a fucking jacket.

"Do you need my jacket?" Marcus asked.

"That would be nice." I said, shivering my ass off.

Marcus stopped, taking his backpack off along with his jacket. He gave me the jacket, I smiled. It was nice of him.

"Alright. You all good now princess?" Marcus asked with a laugh.

"You're not funny." I said, laughing with him.

"Then why're you laughing?" He asked.

"I don't know, because I thought about a cartoon or something." I said.

Lie.

"Whatever Zoo. Let's go." He said, walking with me into the school.

We had to go to our first hour class instantly because Marcus made us late with his driving.

I sat down and Mary looked at me. I rolled my eyes and got out my notebook since we were taking notes.

After first hour I saw Lynette, hugging her.

"How are you?" Lynette asked.

"Sleepy." I said.

"You're always sleepy." Marcus said.

"Hi Marcus." Lynette said.

"Hey Lyn. What's your guys next class?" He asked.

"History." I said.

"Damn I have English next. Bogus. See you guys third hour?" He asked.

"Yessir." I said.

Marcus left as I walked with Lynette to History.

"You guys are friends again?" Lynette asked.

"Yes." I said.

"Good. You look happier than usual." She said.

I smiled. I was happy.
