~Delaney's POV~

"Do you think we're even gonna get this all done in less than 3 days?" I asked.

"Yeah. We can do it." Dylan said.

"Let's start with the kitchen." I said.

"Alright. You get all the cabinets I'll get all the counter stuff." He said.

I nodded.

I went over to my mom's cabinet first. It was time we got rid of everything. I opened the cabinet.. the Xanax were gone.

"They're gone." I said.

"What is?" Dylan asked.

I dropped the bag and went straight to Zoey's room. I opened the Xanax bottle. 22 were left when she had her incident. There was only 20 left.

"What happened?" Dylan asked.

"She used again." I said.

"How do you know?" He asked.

"I counted 22 after she had her incident. There's only 20." I said.

"Are you sure?" He asked.

"She was acting really weird the day before the first day of school. Her eyes were red and she kept falling asleep when we were having dinner. She said it was because she was just tired." I said.

"Do you think Marcus knows about it?" He asked.

"I don't think so. If she never told me she would've never told Marcus." I said.

"We need to get rid of them." He said.

"Yeah, we do." I said.

I took the bottle and went downstairs. I threw it away along with all the alcohol and other pills that my mom had took.

This was hard.

~Zoey's POV~

I decided to finally eat again with Lauren and Anthony while Marcus was asleep.

"Are you excited for your 16th birthday?" Lauren asked.

"I don't really know, it's just another day just getting older." I said.

"Well in the plus side, you get your license." Anthony said.

"I am excited for that. I can show it in Marcus's face." I said with a laugh.

Marcus came downstairs, pulling a shirt on.

"Hey guys." Marcus said.

"Hey sleepy head nice of you to join us." Lauren said.

"Yeah." He said.

"I made you a plate already, it's on the counter." She said.

"Thanks." He said.

"So, Zoey. How has school been before fall break?" Anthony asked.

"It's been alright, I hate school." I said.

"I used to hate it all the time too." Lauren said.

"I just have to deal with stupid teachers all day. Who don't even know how to teach." I said.

"Exactly." She said.

~Delaney's POV~

We had gotten the kitchen done and re-organized. We painted the walls, replaced furniture, and re-did the bathrooms.

"Now tomorrow we just do upstairs." I said.

"How are we gonna do Zoey's room?" Dylan asked.

"She loves music and art, art was always her passion. I have an idea for it." I said.

~Zoey's POV~

It was almost midnight and Marcus was playing his game.

"I'm gonna go to bed." I said.

"Okay. Thank you for eating. I'm proud of you." Marcus said, turning off his game.

"Thank you. I just need to figure out how to get out of this funk." I said.

"One step at a time baby. You'll get there." He said.

"Yeah, I just can't believe I made it to 16. Well, I'm going to. I thought I was gonna die that day." I said.

"God gives second chances." He said.

"I got lucky." I said.

Marcus smiled as I gave him a kiss. I laid in his arms, falling asleep as he played with my hair a little bit. It always felt relaxing.
