I woke up the next morning, there was knocking on my door. I figured it would be Tasha.

I opened the door and yep, Tasha.

"Hey you. Let's take a walk." She said.

"Okay." I said, going to get my shoes on.

I brushed my hair to make it look less messy, then put it in a low messy bun.

I shut my door, starting to take a walk with Tasha.

"I have a suggestion for you." Tasha said.

"What's up?" I asked.

"Why don't you talk to the cops about everything your parents, especially your mom has done?" She asked.

"I wouldn't want Delaney to be mad at me." I said.

"Why don't you talk to her about it?" She asked.

"Maybe." I said.

"You gotta talk to her at some point honey." She said.

"Yeah, I know." I said.

"I'll get you around phone time." She said.

I nodded as I walked over to the cafeteria, getting food. Waffles. I was glad.

I ate my food, going to my room and doing laundry. When I was done I tidied up my room.

"Phone time." Tasha said.

"Okay." I said.

I knew I needed to talk to her. I was going to.

I dialed in Delaney's number, calling her.

"Hello?" Delaney answered.

"Hi Delaney." I said.

"Hi Zoey. How are you doing beautiful?" She asked.

"Good. Really good. But I have to talk to you about something." I said.

"Of course. What's up?" She asked.

"Tasha suggested that we talk to the cops about what happened, what moms doing." I said.

"Like the drugs situation?" She asked.

"Yeah, and the fact that she's never home." I said.

"We can try." She said.

"Okay." I said.

"I love you Zoey. I'm so happy that you're getting better." She said.

"I couldn't have done it without you Delaney." I said.

I smiled.

I hung up, going back to Tasha.

"We can talk to them." I said.

"Okay. I'll get them over here as soon as I can." Tasha said.

I nodded.

~Delaney's POV~

I felt like it would be a good idea to talk to the cops about everything that happened.

Dylan walked in the door, coming over to me.

"Hey babe. What are you doing?" Dylan asked.

"I just got off the phone with Zoey." I said.

"What did she say?" He asked.

"She wants to talk to the cops about what moms been doing." I said.

"What did you say?" He asked.

"I told her that she should do it." I said.

"Good." He said.

"How's Marcus holding up?" I asked.

"He's been going to school, he's been alright. He just wants her to be okay. That girl means everything to him." He said.

"Yeah. I think time just isn't in their favor at the moment." I said.

"And he completely understands that." He said.

I looked at my phone and Tasha sent me pictures and videos of Zoey dancing, smiling, being silly.

"She's gaining weight." I said with a smile.

"She looks really good. She looks healthy." Dylan said.

"I'm so proud of her." I said, crying.

"I know you are." He said.

"I haven't seen a smile like that in 5 years." I said.

"That's how you know Tasha's really helping her through this. Making that shitty ass place feel like a temporary home to her." He said.

"It makes me really happy. I'm hoping she still has Tasha while I'm gone." I said.

"If not I'm here. I'm not going to college so whenever Zoey needs it I'm gonna be here with her." He said.

"Thank you Dylan. I just have to figure out who's gonna pay the damn bills when I'm gone." I said.

"My parents offered." He said.

"Thank you." I said.

"Of course. We have your guys' back Delaney." He said.

I gave Dylan a hug. I was so glad to hear her voice again, even if it was over a phone.

Zoey was Zoey again.
