~Zoey's POV~

He still wasn't gone. I really wanted him gone. I hated him. I shouldn't have hated him, but I did.

"Are you okay?" Marcus asked.

"No." I said.

"Here, sit with me. We'll be right in Dylan." He said.

Dylan nodded, going inside.

"What's happening?" He asked.

I put my head down as Marcus rubbed my back.

"He ruined my life Marcus." I said.

"What did he do?" He asked.

"I never told you this, but after I left our friendship, things just got to the point where I couldn't do it anymore. My sister told my dad and he told her that I wasn't his problem. I tried taking my life that day, ended up in a mental hospital for 2 weeks." I said.

Marcus looked at me and I cried. I never wanted to think about that again. It haunted me whenever I thought about it.

"What else did he do?" Marcus asked.

"He pulled a gun out on my sister right in front of me, slapped her in front of me, always yelled at me when I took a nap, and when my mom started doing drugs he left." I said.

"Baby." He said as I looked up at him.

I stood up as Marcus hugged me, I broke down in his arms.

"Hey. You're here. You made it through and I am so damn proud of you. I regret not being there for you when you really needed it but that shows how so strong you are Zoey." He said.

"She almost died in front of me Marcus." I said.

"I know, I know but she's here, she's alive. She's taking care of you and making sure you're happy and you're doing okay." He said.

"I don't want him here anymore." I said.

"I know baby. You can always come stay with me." He said.

I nodded.

"Can you hold my hand, please?" I asked.

"You don't have to ask. Come on." He said, holding out his hand.

I grabbed Marcus's hand tightly as he opened the front door.

"Hey Zoey." My dad said.

"What the fuck did I just say?" Delaney asked him.

"I told you I was gonna talk to my daughter." He said.

"Marcus, take her upstairs." Dylan said.

Marcus nodded, taking me upstairs.

"I'm gonna change." I said.

"I'll look away." Marcus said.

"Don't worry about it. You've seen me multiple times." I said.

Marcus laughed, sitting on my bed. Our AC still sucked so I just left my bra and shorts on.

I went to my desk and took off my makeup. It was all smudged from crying.

Marcus held his arms out as I got in bed with him. He ran his hand up and down my back. I started falling asleep.

"You okay?" Marcus asked.

"Mmhm." I muttered.

"Okay." He said, kissing my forehead.

I then fell asleep. I didn't want to be awake.
