Marcus was still with me at my house, Delaney and Dylan worked until midnight. I was tired.
"Babe." Marcus said.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"Since your birthday's next week, I'm gonna take you somewhere special." He said.
"You only have your permit." I said.
"Now before we get into that missy, I know damn well you're gonna want your license more than anything so YOU'RE gonna drive and I'm gonna give directions." He said.
"Okay." I said with a laugh.
"Once I turn 16 next month it'll be fine." He said.
I laughed at him.
"I'm better than you because I'm older." I said.
"Whatever Zoey." He said, laughing at me.
I started falling asleep in his arms as he played with my hair. I liked when he did that, it felt nice.
"Are you tired?" Marcus asked.
"Very." I said.
"How are we gonna turn off the light dummy?" He asked.
"We can leave it on, I don't want you to move. I'm comfortable." I said.
"Whatever. I love you." He said, kissing my forehead.
"I love you too." I said, scooting closer.
"Can you get any closer damn!" He said, laughing.
I laughed a little bit. I felt really comfortable. I felt safe.
~Marcus's POV~
I felt glad that I made Zoey feel safe around me. She always was, but after what her dad did she couldn't trust anyone but me, Delaney, and Dylan.
She was laying in my arms, asleep. I had my phone next to me and it was ringing. Dylan. I answered it as quiet as possible.
"What's up?" I said, kinda whispering.
"Why are you being so quiet?" Dylan asked.
"I have a girl sleeping on me right now. I'm not trying to wake her." I said.
"How cute. Laney and I are on our way." He said.
"Alright cool." I said.
I hung up. Zoey positioned herself again, burying her face in my neck. I smiled.
~Delaney's POV~
Dylan and I got home and it was completely silent.
"I think they're asleep." I said.
"When I told Marcus we were on our way he was being quiet so I think Zoey passed out on him." Dylan said.
"I wanna go see." I said.
"Babe no they're tired." He said.
"I know but it's my sister and I wanna see her happy." I said.
I opened the door and they were both passed out. It was so cute. I took a picture.
"They're just too cute." I whispered, closing the door.
"I know. Marcus seems really happy. So does Zoey." Dylan said.
"She actually smiles now." I said.
"I don't think Marcus ever felt that way with Mary. She'd never spend the night with him and he would never spend the night with her. He was never as protective over Mary as he is Zoey." He said.
"I think him dating Mary was just a distraction so he wouldn't find himself liking Zoey." I said.
"Well now they're both in love with each other to death so I think it's all good." He said.
I smiled.
I really was glad Marcus and Zoey finally bursted out of their bubbles. I knew something was there, I was always right.
