~Zoey's POV~
I felt really hurt.
Marcus was downstairs eating so I decided to call Tasha.
"Hello?" Tasha answered.
"Hi Tasha." I said.
"Hi Zoey. How are you holding up?" She asked.
"Not good. I found out my dad got murdered last night in prison, I had another nightmare even after taking my medicine, and I started having those same emotions and thoughts again." I said.
"I heard about your dad this morning. He's on the news because the person who killed him is some famous guy. But, I know you didn't like him but it still hurts to lose someone that you can't bring back." She said.
"I was fine with losing him temporarily but for good? It just hurts." I said.
"I know. It's hard when those thoughts come back. Were you alone when it happened?" She asked.
"No. I was staying the night with Marcus." I said.
"Good. It's better when you're not alone. I'm sure Marcus was really worried about you. Does Delaney know what happened?" She asked.
"I think I heard Marcus telling her on the phone this morning. That's when she found out about my dad." I said.
"Thank you for calling me Zoey. I'm very proud of you for getting through something that got so hard. But I know that you can do this okay? You did so much just to get happy, don't throw it away. Don't let your dad's death stop you from being the person you're supposed to be. He's here with you, no matter what. Even if you guys fought a lot he still loves you." She said.
"Yeah, it's just hard. I don't know. I'm trying not to just be sad all the time. Every smile since last week was just fake and I knew something was off. I knew something just wasn't right and until last night I know." I said.
"And it's okay to be sad. Don't always fake being happy just because others want to see you happy." She said.
"Yeah, only Marcus really knows how I'm feeling because he's always there." I said.
"Keep him in your life." She said.
"I will." I said.
"I hope you feel better soon Zoey, have a good day." She said.
"Thank you Tasha." I said.
I hung up as Marcus came back in my room.
"Are you sure you don't want something to eat?" Marcus asked.
"Not right now." I said.
"Just please, eat when you can." He said.
I nodded, laying back down as he wrapped his arms around my waist.
I just wanted it to end. I wanted everything to end. I was just tired of it.
