"Jaldi bolo kya baat hai."

Zara looked at him and found him actually listening.

"Say it now. Puri raat nhi hai mere paas."

(I don't have the whole night.)

He said irritated when she did not say anything and just stared at him.

"Ji-wo-mai-I am pregnant."

She mumbled with her head lowered. He stilled and processed her words. He sat up straight as he did.

"You're what?"

"I'm pregnant."

She repeated still not looking up.

"How did you know?"

"Do mahine se I didn't get my periods. Aur aaj test bhi kia tha. Positive aaya."

(I tested. It came positive.)

He sat still processing her words.

"We are going to the doctor tomorrow."

He declared and started to lay down. She looked at him shocked and said.

"Nhi! Mai apna bacha nhi giraungi."

(No! I won't abort my child.)

She said hugging her stomach and he looked at her in rage.

"What the fuck! Who's asking you to do that?"

"Toh phir doctor ke paas kyu jaana hai?"

(Then why doctor?)

He face-palmed mentally and gritted out.

"To get it confirmed. Aur baby aur tumhari health ke baare mai confirm krne. You are too young for a baby."

(To confirm about yours and baby's health.)

He mumbled the last part and laid down while she sat there looking at his back.

In these few months she had realised that he did care for her. But was angry at her about something. Something she couldn't point out.

The next morning Ayaan took Zara to the doctor. He told his parents he was going out with her. His father believed him and was happy whereas his mother caught on his lie immediately.

She asked him where was he going and he replied that he would tell her later on.

Right now they were sitting in the doctor's cabin who was looking at Zara's blood reports.

"It's true! You are 4 weeks pregnant Mrs. Sheikh. But the baby is too low in the uterus. This pregnancy is going to be difficult for you. Aapko bhut dhyan rakhna hoga. Otherwise it can cause serious issues for you and the baby. Mai ye kuch supplements bta rhi hu. Take this regularly."

(You will have to take care. I am giving some supplements.)

Zara nodded caressing her stomach. The doctors words scared her.

Reaching home Ayaan told his parents.

Both of them were shocked. But soon their expressions changed. One was angered while the other was happy.

Hammad congratulated the couple and asked Zara to take a rest. Lubna too left for her room.

"Ayaan beta mai bhut khush hu tum logo ke liye lekin tumhe nhi lagta tumhe intezaar krna chahiye tha. Matlab Zara abhi bache ke liye bhut chhoti hai."

(I am very happy for you but don't you think you should have waited. Zara is too young for a baby.)

"Mai jaanta hu baba. Shayad Allah ki yahi marzi thi."

(I know baba. Maybe Allah wanted this.)

Hammad nodded with a smile and left for work.

Ayaan went to his mother's room.

"Ye sab kya hai Ayaan? Pregnant kaise ho gyi wo?"

(What is all this Ayaan. How come she fell pregnant?)

She whisper yelled at him. She didn't want this. She wanted to marry Ayaan to her brother's daughter after making him divorce Zara a few years later.

"Maine dhyan rakha tha ammi lekin jab Allah hume ye khushi de rhe hai toh aap ye kyu keh rhi hai?"

(I took care but when Allah is giving us this happiness why are you asking this?)

Wasn't his mother happy with a grandchild.

"Wo tumhare bache ki maa kaise ban skti hai Ayaan. Wo characterless ladki! Allah! Mai toh tumhare liye Raina ko already pasand kr chuki hu. Socha tha kuch saal baad iss ladki se chhutkara dilwakar usse shaadi kra dungi tumhari. Lekin ab."

(How can she be the mother of your child. That characterless girl! I have selected Raina for you. I thought I will marry you to her after a few years. But now.)

Ayaan was appalled.

"Ye aap kya keh rhi hai ammi? Mai already shadi shuda hu. Chahe jaise bhi. Lekin biwi hai wo meri."

(What are you saying ammi? I am married. However maybe. She is my wife.)

He said and walked out. How can his mother suggest something like this. He might have pretended to be a playboy in front of Zara to get a reaction out of her but he wasn't one in real.

The same night he entered his room and saw Zara caressing her stomach with a smile. She looked happy for once.

He felt a sense of pride inside him when he realised it was his baby in her. He went behind her and hugged her belly from behind making her jump startled.

He nuzzled his nose in her neck and she understood what he wanted. She closed her eyed and tilted her neck knowing it was no use stopping him. Moreover she didn't want him to harm her baby.

He picked her up bridal style and took her to the bed. He hovered over her and planted his lips on hers.

He started unbuttoning her kurti and she felt her breath hitch as the cool air hit her exposed chest.

He slowly removed the kurti off her and then proceeded to remove her leggings gently.

She was shocked to see him behave so gentle. In the past months he had always been rough with her.

She noticed his eyes on her belly and realised the reason behind his gentleness.

Atleast he loved the baby if not her. He placed a feathery kiss on her belly and she felt butterflies in her stomach.

He slowly removed the last piece of clothing from her body and got out of his clothes too.

He carefully positioned himself near her entrance and she almost moaned at how slowly he entered her.

She liked his gentle side but she knew better than to get used to it.

She knew it was temporary. It was only until the baby came.

He slowly moved inside her and dug his face in her neck. He placed kisses on her neck as he continued to move inside her.

His pace increased as he neared his climax. She found her high and he too released himself in her and pulled out rolling to the other side.

She felt cold as he slid off her and clutched the comforter to her chest.

She knew the moment was over and he was back to his cold self.
