A GLIMPSE OF WHAT HAPPENED TWENTY-TWO YEARS AGO

Peter Ugwuoke, Franklin Nwanekezie, and Henry Nkem were seated at their usual spot on Peter's balcony talking about their lives and other random things related to life when Franklin made a suggestion;

"How about we all go on a trip?"

"Trip? Why?" Henry asked surprised at his friend's suggestion.

"We haven't had a trip as friends in like five years now since we all got married, c'mon guys..." Franklin insisted.

"And it's true o, but what about families, our jobs?" Peter asked.

"We can take  a leave... "

" A leave?, I'm just starting to build my company, I can't afford to take a leave now, my company needs me... " Peter argued.

"Well... As for me, I haven't taken a leave in a long time, so if I accumulate all, I should have about six months' worth of leave with a sweet salary, so I'm good with it" Henry said.

" And me too, I still have my accumulated leave, so Peter, do this for us. And besides your company can survive just for a few weeks."

" How many weeks are we talking about here?"

" Just two weeks"

" Ahn Ahn, two weeks is too much now, see ehn, as much as I agreed to this trip doesn't mean I don't like my job, I love it, how about a week and a half?" Henry suggested.

" No, no, no, a week and a half are too much, I don't want my company to suffer within those days while I'm enjoying, see ehn, as for me, just a week is okay, if you don't accept, then count me out..." Peter announced.

" Alright, a week then, will this trip be complete without you? A week should be okay right?" Henry asked Franklin.

" Yeah... It should, alright"

" Where are we even going to?" Peter asked.

" I'm thinking Abuja, let's go and explore it...what do you guys think?"

" Wow! Nice! I'm in!"

" Me too!"

" But what are we going to tell our families?"

" Just brush up something and tell them, I'm sure they'd understand..." Franklin said.

" I'd surely miss my wife and my little sweet daughters" Henry stated.

" You talk as if you are the only one that has a sweet family, remember I have a beautiful wife and two children, a girl and a boy, a son that will take care of my company by the time I'm to retire" Peter boasted.

"It's okay guys, I know I'd miss my wife and son but it's only for one week, stop acting like we're going for a year or that we will not return, it's just a trip to breath more fresh air away from our lovely family, that's all, remember, we were friends before we all got married and started building a family, I don't want our friendship to strain..." Franklin preached, you could see in his eyes that he really loved his friends and wasn't ready to lose them.

"So when are we all going?" Henry asked.

" It's true sef, how about this Saturday?" Peter answered.

" Perfect! But where  would we all meet?" Franklin asked.

"At the airport ofcourse, I'd start booking the tickets now..." Peter said and they all agreed.
