TW: Stabbing, cussing, death
This all started when Helios was a lot younger.
His father was a sheriff and had to work from afar, leaving him with his mother and sister.
He didn't make any good friends. Scarlett was his only friend, yet he couldn't see her face-to-face. Travelling from Texas to Vermont was a long trip. So he spent time playing outside by himself, chasing after butterflies.
He was always compared with his sister too. His sister was 8 years older than him, and was of course better than him in any way. So to be honest, this was unfair. But hey, the one who compared him to his sister was their mother, and "Mother Knows Best", so he couldn't really say anything.
Until, he met this one child. He found it fascinating to play with them. Though they didn't speak, Helios enjoyed talking to them. They tended to spend time in a garden, so Helios always snuck out of the house to find them.
One day, the child finally spoke.
"Helios... Do you consider me as a friend?"
Helios only grinned and nodded his head. He then replied.
"Of course! Kinda rare for me to say but, we're best friends now! Since you're there for me every time I needed help. If you need help you can always find me!"
The child only smiled, not saying a word.
However, after that day, the child was nowhere to be seen. Helios was alone again. Being compared with his sister almost 24/7, he had grew tired of it. Helios went to the same garden many, many times, but the child still wasn't there.

A few years later, Helios went to the garden just to see that child again. They were hiding something behind their back. "Hey! Long time no see, partner! Where were you this whole time?" Helios asked, skipping towards them. The child, as always, didn't say anything. Helios got used to this silence and started talking about his problems again. The child looked at the ground, pulling out a weapon. Some kind of knife, maybe?
"And then here we have my mom, comparing me with my sister again. Dude, it's just unfair! She's a lot older than me, of course she's better! Uh... hey... are you alright-" Helios rambled, until he noticed their face. He tried to ask what was wrong, but then...
The child.
Stabbed him right below the ribs.
"You're so dumb. I would never be your friend. Not with a stupid boy like you." The child gave him a creepy smile as Helios slid down a tree, sitting on the floor. He felt betrayed. Betrayed by a "friend" he trusted.
"A$$HOLE! YOU COULD HAVE SAID... so..." Helios yelled as loud as he could while the child walked away, leaving him to rot. Before Helios closed his eyes, he saw a man in black, asking him for a deal. "Hey there. Well, I see that you're in the verge of dying right now. I can help you with your wounds, if you would help me with my work..." Helios was too tired to ask who the man was and agreed with his deal.

"Helios?! Helios!!" A female voice could be heard. It was right next to him... He woke up to see his sister, Hemera, in a white room.
"Oh thank God you're alright!! I was so worried about you! You fainted in that garden!" She cried, expressing her worries. Helios looked around. He was in a hospital... Who was the man from earlier? "Uh sister? Did you see a man in black when you were there?" He asked quietly, and her sister thought for a while. "No. What, did he cause this?" Hemera shook her head and hissed at the last part. Helios shook his head, but he couldn't seem to remember anything he had said. His head only hurt. A lot.
"Ow... My head..." Helios mumbled as Hemera put him to sleep again. "Maybe a little nap may help. Sweet dreams, brother." She smiled gently. He returned the smile then slept again.

Helios woke up again in the middle of the night. He swore he heard someone. He looked around the room and saw the man in black. "Hello there child. We meet again." The man smiled, scaring Helios. "What do you... want from me? What do you want me to do?" Helios asked in a loud tone, only to get shushed by the man.
"Shhh. You may wake other children up."
Helios quieted down.
"Would you like to be... a State Representative?"
