Helios Airways Flight 522, registered as 5 Bravo- Delta Bravo Yankee (5B-DBY), was a scheduled international passenger flight from Larnaca International Airport (IATA: LCA, ICAO: LCLK), Larnaca, Cyprus to Václav Havel Airport (IATA: PRG, ICAO: LKPR), Prague, Czech Republic with a scheduled stopover at Athens International Airport (IATA: ATH, ICAO: LGAV), Athens, Greece, shortly after the plane took off from Cyprus on the 14th of August 2005, Cyprus ATC lost contact with the aircraft, which was a Boeing 737-800, operating the flight, the aircraft was named Olympia, the plane eventually crashed near Grammatiko, Greece, all 121 people on board were killed in the crash, which makes it the deadliest aviation accident in Greek history.

"Where are my equipment cooling circuit breakers?" Was the last communication with the aircraft, the Captain asked this in regards to the cooling system, after the aft fans was open a bit, the aircraft climbed until 34,000 feet, at 10:40am local time, the aircraft entered the holding pattern for Athens Airport, at the KEA VOR at 34,000 feet, it remained in this holding pattern, under the control of the autopilot for the next 70 minutes, at 11:05am local time, two F-16 Fighter jets from Hellenic Air Force intercepted the plane at 11:24am local time, as soon as the flight attendant known as Andreas entered the cockpit, the plane's left engine flamed out due to fuel exhaustion, the plane left the holding pattern and it started to descend, Andreas succeeded in banking the plane away from Athens towards a rural area as the right engines flamed out, which occurred ten minutes after the left engine flamed out, just before 12:04pm local time, the aircraft crashed into hills near Grammatiko, 40 kilometres from Athens, the crash killed at 121 people on bard the plane.
