"Why the fuck is he in France?" I groan, looking at Carlos' laptop to see the location used to send the messages.
"Considering his closest allies are all dead and he's from France I don't think that's too much of a surprise," Carlos mumbles, taking a bite of his sandwich.
I roll my eyes at him and take a sip of my iced coffee, "It's just frustrating, I don't want him getting to Mama," I sigh, hoping that his feud with me stays with me and doesn't reach her.
"He won't," Carlos says, his eyes softening as he looks at me.
I nod my head, taking another sip to try and calm my nerves.
"I'm just getting paranoid, which never works. I just need to keep calm and it'll be fine, it's gonna all work out in the end," I start rambling, my eyes widening as a thousand different possibilities run through my mind.
"Deep breath Fia," Carlos says gently, standing up to pull me into a hug, "One day at a time," he says, resting his chin on my head.
I nod, running my hands up and down his back as I calm myself down. I let out a deep breath as my heart stops pounding, "Thanks," I mumble, running my hands through my hair.
He offers me a smile and gently kisses me, "It's gonna be ok Fia," he says, his tone encouraging as I smile.
"It always works out," I breathe out, putting on a smile as I sit back down at Carlos' desk.
"Luca and Adelyn are still in France aren't they?" Carlos asks, looking up at me as he sits down.
I nod, "They're staying there for the rest of her pregnancy and so that she can be with Fleur when she gives birth," I explain.
"So we have back up there if we need it," he nods slowly,
I nod, "I don't want to stress Adelyn out when she's pregnant though," I groan, "That can't be good for the baby,"
"Fia I'm sure both the baby and Adelyn will be fine," Carlos chuckles,
"You're right," I smile, not sure why I'm suddenly so on-edge.
"Are you ok?" Carlos asks, "I've never seen you so nervous before,"
"I'm fine," I flash him a smile,
He narrows his eyes at me, "Come here," he says, patting his knee.
I roll my eyes and walk over to him, sitting on his lap as he wraps an arm around my waist.
I put my arms around his shoulders as I rest my head on his, "This is just stressful," I admit, "I don't know why though,"
Carlos hums, "You're allowed to be nervous Fia," he says, tilting my chin down as he smiles softly at me.
I close my eyes and nod, "I don't know why I'm so on-edge, I don't like it,"
"Why don't we go out for the afternoon?" he suggests, smiling as he kisses my cheek.
"Good idea, I need a distraction," I say happily, standing up and stretching.
"I'm gonna get changed, I'll meet you downstairs," I say, giving Carlos a quick kiss before walking out of his office and into our room.
I go into our walk-in robe and pull on a pair of cream sweats, matching it with my cream hoodie, pulling on my brown ugg boots.
I brush out my hair and check my reflection before quickly making my way downstairs, to where Carlos is waiting for me.
I smile when I notice he's changed into a pair of black cargos and a black hoodie, untypical fashion for a Mafia Don.
"Where to, my Fia?" he asks, throwing an arm around my shoulders as he opens the front door for me.
