*Winter

I was following the GPS to the park where Kassidy is at. It took me a while to get there. I finally pulled up, it was empty and seen her sitting on the bench with her head in her hands. I cut my car off, grabbed my key, and put it into my pocket. I got out and went to her.

"Hey..." I said touching her shoulder

She looked at me and her eyes were red. I was looking at her and tears were appearing. I grabbed her and pulled her to me. I hugged her and I heard her sniffing. I rubbed her back and arms as I held her close. I kissed her forehead and continued to hold her until she lifted up. She wiped her eyes and then looked at the trees.

I grabbed her hand making her look at me.

"You okay??" I asked softly

She shrugged her shoulder while biting her top lip. I rubbed my thumb across her hand. She was sweating.

"Hold on..." I said getting up

I went to the car, grabbed a towel out of my bag and my hydro flask. I went back to the table. I poured the cold water on the towel.

"Drink some..." I said giving her the hydro flask

I squeezed some water out of the towel then I wiped her forehead as she drank the water. She sat the water down and I closed it back up. I finished wiping the sweat off her and sat the towel on my leg so it wouldn't get dirty. She looked at me.

"Thank you..." she said softly

"You're Welcome..." I said smiling at her

I place my hand on her knee and moved closer to her.

"You wanna talk about it??" I asked looking at her as she look off at the trees

"I just found out my mom has Alzheimer's. I went up to her and she didn't know who I
was..." she said with tears in her eyes

I grabbed her hand and squeezed it.

"I know how you feel..." I said looking at our hand

"You do??" She asked and I nodded
"How did you deal with it??"

"It was very very hard cuz we were so close. He was my everything..." I said

"He??" She asked

"My granddad..." I said
"But he didn't say my name until he was dying and it hurt a lot. He knew who I was because he did something he used to do when I was young. If I do a good job, he would fluff my hair. He used to do that all the time. It's like he knew me, but he wasn't processing my name..."

"When I went to her she tapped my nose. That was something she has always done to me when I was a kid. But like you said, she didn't say my name. It was like I was unfamiliar but familiar..." she said

"Yeah. She knows who you are. She just can't process it right now that's all..." I said looking at her

"I hope so..." she said looking at me

"I know so..." I said nodding

She was just looking at me. Eyes looking at every part of my face. Her eyes fell back onto my eyes. I smiled. She leaned in and came closer. I lifted my head up and our lips touched. She softly grabbed my face as our mouths molded each other. My eyes were closed and I felt myself getting lost in the kiss. That was until she pulled away. I opened my eyes and looked up at her.

"Thank you so much. I don't know what I would've done with you coming..." she said against my lips

"Of course. I'll be here whenever you call..." I said

She pulled me closer and kissed me again. We were kissing until we heard a horn blow. We pulled away and turned around. Ke and Arya were laughing.

"They are such assholes..." Kassidy said making me laugh

I looked at her.

"You okay??" I asked

"Yeah..." she said making me smile

Ke and Arya got out of the car. They came to sit at the other side of the picnic table.

"You alright??" Ke asked

"Yeah..." Kassidy said looking at her

"I have been calling your phone..." Ke said

"That bitch died after texting Winter..." Kassidy said

"Your dad told me to tell you to meet them at the Hilton hotel on 54th Avenue at 11. He wanted to see you again before they leave..." Ke said

"You'll have to ask Lilian to let you off tomar so you can go see them..." I said

"I'm going to call Lillian and tell her..." she said

"You know Lilian??" Ke asked looking at me

"Yea, she's one of my close friends..." I said

"Y'all are friends??" I asked

"Yeah..." I said
"For y'all first date I dressed her up, did her makeup, and hair..."

"First off, it wasn't a date..." Kassidy said looking at me

"Well she surely thought otherwise..." I said

"Well, it wasn't. But I would love to take you out on a date..." she said smiling

"You wanna take me on a date??" I asked to make sure I heard what she said

"I do..." she asked

"Well, I'll be happy to let you..." I said blushing

"Y'all are so cute..." Arya squealed

I giggled as Kassidy smiled.

They broke off into a conversation as I looked around just taking in what I was seeing around me. It wasn't too hot and it wasn't too cold. The wind was blowing slowly to give a breeze. We were in the shade so the sun wasn't directly on us.

I felt eyes on me before I looked back down. I looked at Kassidy and she was looking at me.

"You okay??" I asked

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just looking around..." I said

"You wanna go get on the swing??" Kassidy asked

"Kassidy..." I said

"Come onnn Pretty Lady. Let's have a lil
fun..." she said grabbing my hand

I bit my lip while looking at her.

"Okay..." I said

I smiled big as she helped me up. Arya and Ke were already at the playground. We made it to the swings and got on.

Ngl I had fun at the park. We stopped to get food then I dropped Kassidy off at home and I headed home.
