A MONTH LATER
Harlow and I have been trying to do everything to get my money back, but they aren't letting up. The only thing I can do is this point is dismiss the divorce until I can get it switched ova to my name fully.
It was the weekend and I wanted to talk to Kassidy about what had been going on and what I decided to do. I really haven't been talking to her about anything cuz when I'm with her it's different and good. I don't want the bad things in my life to affect my time with her.
I was currently getting ready to meet her by the water. It was nice outside so why not go sit by the water and talk. Clark was gone golfing or some with his coworkers, but knowing him ain't no telling what he's out doing.
After getting ready, the car was outside waiting for me. I got in and we headed to the water. It took about 20 minutes to get there. When I made it she was there sitting at a bench. I got out and walked to her.
"Hey..." I said making her look up from her phone
"Hey Pretty Lady..." she said smiling
She got up and we hugged each other then she kissed me.
"I missed you..." she said hugging me again making me smile wider
"I miss you too..." I said squeezing her tighter
We sat down and she looked at me.
"What you wanted to talk about??" She asked
I slightly turned to her so I could look at her.
"You know I've been trying to divorce Clark, right..." she said
"Yes, I do. How's that going by the way??" She asked
"Not good..." I said honestly
"What's wrong??" She asked
I let out a small sigh.
"After filing for divorce, I transferred all the money I contributed into the joint account to my personal account. Once I told Clark about the divorce, he got my account frozen. Money can't go into or out my account, also I can't get into it..." I said
"If it was your account, how did he get access to that??" She asked
"He was ova it all mine, his, and the joint account. I really didn't know much about that so I let him do it and that was it. My account only included a percentage of my income, my spending money..." I said
"So, how are you going to get your money back??" She asked
"I only have 2 options at this point. Wait until the divorce is completed and established. Or I dismiss it..." I said looking at her
"What are you going to do??" She asked
"It's been a month and a half, the status of the divorce hasn't changed. I can't wait any longer to get away sooo, I've decided to dismiss the divorce until I can get my things straight..." I said
She got quiet and was looking at the ground.
"You still wanna be with him??" She asked
"Of course not..." I said quickly
"Then why dismiss the divorce??" She asked
"Cuz I'm tryna make this process go faster so I can be free..." I said
"Just leave now, you can come stay with me..." she said
"I can't rely on anybody else right now..." I said truthfully
"But you relied on him..." she said
"And we see where that got me..." I said looking at her
"Heartaches, headaches, and lies. Also, my money is not able to be accessed..."
"Money isn't everything..."
"It is when you've worked you've ass off for it. Working overtime, going ova & beyond. That's my money that I've worked hard for and I'm not letting him take it away from me..." I said
She looked off at the water.
"This shit isn't easy, okay. Like I'm losing my mind ova this. My whole life and what I've known has come crashing down on me in these last few months. I don't know what I'm doing, but I'm doing my best. I want out now and I'm tryna do it the quickest way..." I said
"So what, I'm supposed to sit around and wait on you until you don't belong to him. At the end of all of this, you're still going to be his. Why can't I have you to myself??"
"You knew what came with me before we started fucking around. You know I'm trying to divorce him, but something came up. I gotta do what I have to do so I can be free to be yours and only yours. I have to do what's best for me right now..."
"I'm sorry if this makes you upset or feel unwanted. But it's not like that. I want to be with you, but I have to play smart to get what's mine. I don't want to be selfish and have you waiting around for me. So, you have the option of staying or leaving..."
After saying that my throat started burning and my heart was pounding.
"So you can never be fully mine??" She asked looking at me
"As of right now, I can't..." I said before looking down
"So you want me to sit around and wait while you have your cake and eat it too..." she said
"Kassidy you know it's nothing like that..." I said
"I don't know anything..." she said
It was quiet for a while as we looked around.
"I respect your decision 100%. I wish things could be better for us. But I've been dealt cards that I don't know what to do with, but I have to play..." I said looking at her
"The decision is yours..."
