*Winter
Today I was holding a housewarming party. I was finished furnishing and decorating my house. I was ready to show it to my friends.
I invited a few people ova to just have a bit of fun and a lil drinking.
I got up early to go to the grocery store to get what I needed to cook. While at the grocery store, my phone started ringing. I pulled it out of my purse and saw it was Clark's mother calling me. I slid my AirPod in my ear and answered.
"Hello..." I said before grabbing the cream cheese
"Hey Sweetie, how are you??" Catherine asked
"Hey, I'm Good momma. How are you??" I asked
"I'm making it..." she said
"I called cuz I wanna have a sit down with you and Clark..."
"Clark and I don't have any dealing anymore so why a sit down??" I asked
"I think you and him should have closure before your divorce is finalized..." she said
"I don't need closure, I've moved on. I'm okay without closure..." I said
"But he needs it..." she said
"He asking to see you one last time so he can finally move on. I know you don't think you need closure, but please do this. I want him to be able to move on and feel better..."
I sighed.
"I don't know. I'm not ready to see his face again or be in the same presence as him..." I said
"Understandable..." she said
"Just give it some time and I'll call later..."
"Okay..." I said before hanging up
I put my phone back in my purse and continued getting what I needed. I went through the line, paid, and headed home. The driver helped me get all of my groceries out. Next week, I was going to the dealership to finally get me a car. That was the only thing I needed right now to feel complete. Don't get me wrong, I love getting carried around but it's nothing like having your own.
I started making the food for today. I was making finger foods. I was making ham, turkey, and cheese sliders and wraps. I did a fruit platter, pasta salad, and spinach dip. And for desserts, it was a lot. Also, I did liquor pouches and juice, for the people who aren't drinking. Once I got everything together, I put it in the fridge to stay cold. I was going to make the spinach dip when it's closer to the time for people to come ova.
I grabbed my blanket and got on my couch. I ended up falling asleep which made me a bit behind, but not too much. I made the spinach dip and put it on the stove on low to keep it warm. I went to take a shower. After my shower, I put in a bit of makeup before moisturizing myself and putting on my clothes. I sprayed in perfume and slipped my shoes on.
I took out the food and sat them on my kitchen table. I sat everything up real nice when I got a knock on the door. I opened the door to see a big ass bouquet of white roses. Scott's (the driver) head popped up from behind them with a smile.
"Hey Scott..." I said smiling
"This is for you. Mrs. Carol and Mr. Harlow couldn't make it so they had me bring you these..." he said
"Awwww..." I said smiling
"Is everything okay??"
"Yes, Sand got food poisoning at college..." he said
"Yeah, I know how they are about their daughter..." I said
"Come in..."
He came in and help but all them damn roses up cuz it was a lot.
"I know you said you didn't wanna stay cuz you had to work. Soooo since they aren't hereeeee, wanna stay for the housewarming??" I asked bumping his shoulder well trying cuz he's about a foot taller than me
"I don't know..." he said
"Do you want to cuz I can call and let them know you'll be here with me. You know they got a soft spot for me..." I said raising my eyebrow
"Let's do it..." I said
"Yayyy!!" I said going to the back to get my phone
While I was calling somebody rung the doorbell.
"SCOTT GET THE DOOR!!" I yelled
I called to check on them everything then told them Scott was going to be with me which they were cool with, of course. I hung up and walked to the front. I gave him a thumbs-up with a smile. I turned to see Ke, Arya, Dynasty, and Tee sitting on the couch.
"TEEEEE!!" I yelled running to her and jumping on her
"Heyyyy..." she said laughing as we hugged each other
"Oh so fuck us..." Arya said looking at me
"I see y'all every other day. I haven't seen her in months..." I said hugging her again
"Hey, Dynasty..." I said hugging her
"Wassup..." she said smiling
"How y'all been??" I asked sitting on the other side of Tee
"We've been great. Still obsessed and happy..." Dynasty said kissing Tee's forehead
"We going on a week vacay in like 2 weeks..." Tee said
"Okayyy vacation. Where y'all going??" I asked
"It's a surprise..." Dynasty said
"Awww..." I said
"Well everybody this is Scott. Scott this is Ke, Arya, Tee, and Dynasty..."
They all spoke to each other before my doorbell rung again. I got up and walked to the door with Scott behind me.
"It's fine..." I said
He gave me a hesitant look before I nodded.
"Go sit and relax..." I said before we walked off
I opened the door to see Lilian and her cousin Zeke, whom I hadn't seen in ages.
"Heyyyyy!!" I said jumping on him
"Heyyyy girl..." he said hugging me
"I missed you..."
"I missed you too..." I said kissing his cheek
"When you come back??"
"Yesterday..." I said helping me down
"Why you didn't tell me??" I asked
"I wanted to surprise you..."
"Are you surprised??" he asked with an eyebrow raised
I playfully rolled my eyes and smiled. They came in and we walked to the front room. From the corner of my eye, I saw Scott eyeing Zeke.
I introduced everybody once more before we started eating and chatting. After eating, we started playing games, listening to music, and drinking. Scott finally got comfortable and relaxed. We were honestly having a good ass time.
The whole night I kept seeing Scott and Zeke glance at each other. I think they'll be so cute together. Scott is quiet and very observant while Zeke is outgoing and the life of the party, that's the perfect match.
Scott got up and walked to the kitchen. I got up and walked behind him. We got in the kitchen and he looked at me which made me laugh a lil.
"I saw you and Zeke giving each other the eye. You want me to make some shake??" I asked
He laughed before sipping his drink he got out of the fridge.
"Nah, I got it..." I said
"Okay, big daddy..." I said as we laughed
The rest of the night was vibes and laughter.
