It was now Sunday and Winter has been here the whole weekend. It was amazing having her here for a full week. Winter and I were at the store cuz she wanted to cook Sunday dinner. I was getting some off the shelf for her.
"Oh, honey..." I heard her say
I turned around and a lil boy had fallen in front of the basket.
"I'm sowwy..." I heard his little voice say
"It's fine, you okay??" Winter asked helping him up
He nodded while looking at her.
"Where's your Mom??" Winter asked
"Ova dere..." his little voice said
She was staring at his face once she saw him. I looked at her and her eyes were watering. She quickly blinked them away before grabbing his hand.
"Come on, let's take you to her..." she said as we walked to the next aisle
"CJ..." we heard we went to the next aisle and we saw a woman looking around for We guessed him
"Mommy..." he yelled
"Where did you go??" She asked
"I fell, she helped me. Tank you..." he said making Winter smile
The woman looked at Winter and she looked like she had seen a ghost.
"He's adorable. I just wanted him to find an adult before letting him roam free..." Winter said smile
The woman was just looking without saying anything.
"Okayy..." Winter said I grabbed the basket and we were walking off
"Hey, are you Winter??" We heard a woman ask
"Yes, and you are??" Winter asked turning around
"I'm Alex. Your husband and I were messing around before I found out he was married..." she said
"How long ago was this??" Winter asked
"It was 4 years ago. We had a one-night stand until I found out I was pregnant. He made me abort the first one, but a year later CJ came alone. We were together until recently I found out about you through one of his coworkers..." she said
"How old is he??" Winter asked
"CJ is 3..." she said
"CJ. He's a Junior??" Winter asked softly looking at the little boy
"Yeah. Clark named him..." she said
The tears in Winter's eyes slowly slid down her face.
"I'm so sorry. I promise you, once I found out I left him and moved outta the house..." she said
"But that night he was on the phone. Whoever he was on the phone with knew about me..." Winter said
"Well, it wasn't me. He had become distant with me for about 5 months and blamed it on work..." she said
"He told me the same thing..." Winter said softly
"I threatened to leave that's when he bought the house..." Alex said
"House..." Winter said
"He was distant for 5 months then about 6 months ago, he bought us a house in that Stanford neighborhood..." she said
"That's like 20-30 minutes from where we live..." Winter said
"I didn't know nun of that. I deeply and sincerely apologize for everything on my behalf. If I had any idea about you I swear I wouldn't even gotten involved with him. Every since I found out about you I blocked him and all..." Alex said
Winter grabbed her hand with tears still in her eyes.
"It's no way you could've known about me. It's not your fault, not in the slightest. I'm sure he made you feel like you were the only woman in the world and he sold you all types of dreams. I don't blame you cuz I fell for the same thing. As much of a dog he is, don't keep him from his child. Every child deserves two parents. If he wants to be in his life, let him. And if he doesn't, put him on child support..." Winter said squeezing her hand
"And I'm sorry for what you had to go through with him. You seem like a nice girl so find somebody who's for you and only..."
"Thank you..." she said smiling at Winter
"Of course..." Winter said smiling
"Bye, Handsome..."
"Byeeeee..." he said waving while pulling his Mama towards the ice cream he wanted
"Let's go..." Winter said
I grabbed her back by her waist making her look at me.
"You okay??" I asked
"No, but I'll be fine..." she said looking around
I grabbed her face and made her look at me.
"When we get home you wanna talk and vent. I'll listen..." I said
"I don't wanna be sad and stuff when I'm with you. I'll deal with that some other time. I just wanna enjoy myself today. Yes, I'm sad and yes it hurts. But I don't wanna think about that right now..." she said
"Winter you can't just have all that hurt and pain stuff down in you. It's okay to talk about it and it's okay to cry. I'm here..." I said
She walked up to me and hugged me. I wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her closer.
"Thank you, Kassidy. I appreciate you for everything, really I do..." she said before pulling away
"I just want to enjoy you and our time together. I'm tired of being sad. I wanna feel happiness. At least for right now..."
"Okay, but whenever you need to vent or just need a shoulder to cry on, call me..." I said
"Of course..."
I kissed her forehead before we finished shopping. I could tell she wasn't happy like she was at the beginning of our shopping. She was tryna mask it but I could see right through it. I wasn't gone push the issue tho.
I paid for some of the groceries and she paid for the rest. I drove this time. I stopped by The Market and told her to stay in the car. I grabbed her a bouquet of flowers, a fruit platter, and cookie dough ice cream cuz she love that flavor. I paid for her things and walked out. She saw me coming out. She stepped out of the car with a pout. I smiled at her as I walked up to her.
"These are for..." I said giving her the flowers
"I know you tryna hide your feelings and emotions right now, but I can sense it. I hate seeing you go through this. I just want to do something for you to lift your spirit..." I said looking at her
She pulled me into a tight hug. Her head went into my neck and I could feel her body shaking against mine. I wrapped my arms around her.
"It's okay Pretty. I gotchu..." I said rubbing her head
I held her until she was ready to get up. She lifted and she wiped her face.
"I wasn't trying to cry..." she said softly
"It's okay..." I said smiling
"You're so sweet to me..." she said looking at me
"I just want you to be happy..." I said
She smiles before kissing me passionately.
"Thank you..." she said against my lip
"You're welcome..." I said
She hugged me and kisses me again.
"As long as I'm with you, I'm happy..." she said before kissing me
