*Winter
I walked back into the house and they were sitting on their phone. I'm pretty sure they just got out the windows cuz my curtains were not like I had them.
"Y'all could've fixed my curtains back after being nosy..." I said sitting back down
Dad chuckled.
"Some of the questions yall asked was a bit much..." I said looking at them
"I didn't think they were that bad..." Mom said
"Of course you didn't. You weren't the one getting questioned..." I said
"We just wanted to know her intentions..." Dad said
"And I get that, but she was uncomfortable with some of the questions. And y'all weren't inviting..." I said looking at them
"We didn't mean to make her uncomfortable. We just wanted to make sure she's as serious about you as you are about her..." my dad said
"Well, y'all came off too strong..." I said
"How about you invite her to dinner with us next weekend??" Mom asked
"Y'all serious??" I asked looking at them
"Yes, we wanna get to know her more since all the questions are out the way..." Dad said
"Plus we see how much you like her so we might as well get acquainted..." Mom said
"Thank you..." I said smiling
We just sat on the couch talking for like 2 hours. I was texting Kassidy about the dinner they wanted to do. She was asking about what for and what I told them. I had to tell her ass to calm down.
Anyways, Mom made some good ass sandwiches for us. It was lunchtime and I still hadn't eaten so I had like 3, not gone lie. After eating that, I showed them around and I took them to the room they were going to be in. They went into the room to get settled. I started on laundry cuz I need to wash my sheets and put more on my bed. As I was doing that, my phone started ringing. I picked it up and it was Scott FaceTiming me. I answered and sat my phone down.
"Heyyyy..." I said smiling
"Hey, what you doing??" He asked
"I'm doing laundry..." I said
"You're woman still there??" He asked
"No, she went home..." I said while sorting the clothes out
"What you doing??"
"Waiting on Zeke to come out the house..." he said
"What y'all bout to do??" I asked
"To get lunch and go to the park..." he said making me smile
"Awww..." I said making him smile and chuckle
"Winter where's your groceries??" Mom asked looking in the fridge
"I'm running low right now. Haven't had time to go to the grocery store..." I said
"Who the hell is that??" Scott asked
"My mom..." I said and his eyes widened
I laughed as my mom made her way into the laundry room.
"Who the hell is that??" She mocked him
"My friend Scott..." I said setting my phone up so they could see each other
He waved at her and apologized for cursing.
"You're a handsome young man..." she said making him smile
"Thank you so much..." he said
Zeke got in the car.
"Heyyyy Zeke..." I said smiling
"Heyyy Bitch..." he spoke back making my mom's mouth open
"Her mom is in the room with her..." I heard Scott whisper
"I'm so sorry Ma..." he said
"You fine hun..." Mom said as she walked out of the laundry room
"Where's your woman??" Zeke asked
"She went home..." I said putting the colored clothes into the washer
"I saw she got the book bag last night..." he said wiggling his eyebrows
I smiled and shook my head.
"Oooouu, she blushing..." Scott said
"I am not..." I said moving my face out of the camera
"Mmmhhmmm..." I heard Zeke say making me laugh
"Well, I won't keep y'all long. Enjoy your date..." I said smiling
They said bye and hung up. I put what I needed in my clothes before I started the washer. I sat the other clothes on the side and went into my room. I lay across the bed and cut the TV on. I was scrolling to find something to watch. I started watching Martin and my mom ended up joining me. She was sitting at the end of the bed and my head was in her lap as she rubbed through my hair.
"What you have been up to??" She asked
"Nothing much. Working, tryna get my place together, and having full with my friends..." I said
"Your place came together real nice..." she said
"Thanks..." I said with a small smile
"Have you talked to Clark since you left??" She asked
"No. But he got flowers sent to my job like a few weeks before my birthday..." I said
"That was nice..." she said
"Yeah..." I said
"I need you to come with me to pick out a dress for Maylin and Robert's anniversary party..." she said
"Mom I thought you didn't like that woman??" I asked
"I don't but Robert's my friend and it's going to be free food..." she said making me laugh
"Mom, that's fake..." I said
"Welp..." she said making me laugh harder
"How y'all are going to do the basement??" I asked
"Maybe an exercise room..." she said
"Mom let's be for real. You nor dad don't do any type of exercising..." I said laughing
"We need to. Or bones starting to pop like popcorn..." she said
"DAD COME GET YOUR WIFE CUZ SHE'S ON ONE..." I said laughing
"I miss doing this with you..." she said kissing my forehead
"Aww Mom. Me too..." I said smiling hugging her
"So about this girl..." she said
"Her name is Kass mom..." I said looking at her
"Well this Kass, are you sure that's what you want??" She asked
"Yes. I've been through it to get to this point with her. I like her a lot, she treats me well, and I'm happy with her..." I said
"I'm happy you found someone good for you. I just want to know that you'll never get hurt again. But since you are happy, I will be open-minded. I'll give her a chance..." Mom said
"Thank you so much, Mom. She's wonderful so you should get to know her..." I said and she nodded
We continued watching Martin. That was until it was dinner time and she went to cook. I met Kassidy to give her a plate. And we spent a lil time together before we went back home.
