Today was the doctor's appointment. Winter was very nervous and anxious. Last night she didn't really sleep and this morning she couldn't eat.
I'm really hoping for good news cuz we really want this. Having our own child will mean the world to us. Never thought I'd be in this predicament where I want a kid. Didn't even think it'll be this soon. Being with Winter makes me think long-term. Marriage, kids, buying a house, etc. I want this forever.
We pulled up in the parking garage. I grabbed my things and headed to her side to let her out. I grabbed her hand and we headed in. We checked in before going to the waiting room. We sat there for like 10 minutes before we were called. We went to the back, and they checked her vitals and then said the doctor would be in shortly. 5 minutes later, the doctor came in and they talked for a bit. They took another urine sample and blood like last time. She left and we just sat there waiting.
"I'm so nervous..." she said looking at me
I stood up and hugged her.
"No matter what happens, we're going to keep trying. Even if we have to take those alternatives, we're going to have a child..." I said looking at her
"Okay..." she said softly
I kissed her forehead before hugging her tightly. Her head lay on my chest as I rubbed her back. It felt like forever before the doctor came back. I kissed Winter's head as the doctor sat down in her chair.
"We ran two tests with both urine and blood samples each. We ran the test and all of them came out negative. So unfortunately you aren't pregnant..." the nurse said
I left Winter kind of go limp in my arm as she stared at the doctor.
"I'm so sorry about this. I know how excited you guys were about being pregnant..." the doctor said rubbing Winter's knee
"Is there a way we can see if can she bear kids? Cuz she was pregnant once before but all of a sudden had a miscarriage..." I said
"You guys never check that before starting the process??" The doctor asked
"No..." I said
"We can make an appointment at the OB to get her uterus checked to see if there is anything wrong..." the doctor said
"Do you want to do that??" I asked but she didn't respond
I squeezed her.
"I'll have to get back to you once we talk about it..." I said looking at her
"I'll give you guys a minute. Once you're done get your papers in the front and I'll leave my number and email just in case you have questions or concerns..." she said standing up
"Thank you..." I said with a small smile
She tapped Winter's knee before walking out. I stood Winter up and she looked at me with tears in her eyes. She pulled her into me and she instantly started crying. It really hurt me and her hurting hurt me even deeper. I hate to see her like this.
I held her close just letting her let out her emotions. After like 10 minutes she lifted up and I wiped her eyes before kissing her forehead. Her face was red and her eyes were red and puffy.
"I wanna go home..." she said softly
"Let's go..." I said
I gave her the keys to the car as I checked out and grabbed the papers. I thanked them and headed to the car. I got in and she had her head laid against the window.
"You want anything to eat??" I asked
She shook her head.
"I just want to go lay down..." she said
"Okay..." I said
I put my seatbelt on and headed to my house. We pulled up and we got out. I opened the door and she went straight to the bed. I closed the door and locked it. I walked into the room while she had pulled her clothes off and got in bed. I heard her sniffing. I got out my jeans and shirt before sliding into bed. I turned her around and pulled her into my arms. She cried into my chest as I held her. I wish I could take this feeling from her. Seeing her like this is never easy.
___________ 4 HOURS LATER
Winter has been sleeping for about 3 and a half hours. I slept for two but when I woke up she was still asleep. I didn't want to wake her up but she needed to eat. She hasn't eaten all day and that's not good.
I turned ova to wake her up. As soon as I touched her, she got up and ran to the bathroom. I got up and ran behind her. She lifted the toilet seat and started throwing up. I fixed her hair in the rubber band before going to the kitchen to get salt. I went back to the bathroom. She was finishing up and sat up. I ripped off some tissue and wiped her mouth. I threw it away and poured a bit of salt into my hand.
"Lick some..." I said making her look up at me weird "It's going to help..."
She gagged and instantly licked the salt off my hand. I dumped the rest in the trash and flushed the toilet. I helped her up and took her to the front room. I grabbed saltine crackers and a Gatorade. I gave it to her before going to clean the bathroom. I disinfected it and went to the front room. She drank some of the Gatorade but didn't even open the crackers.
"Pretty Lady eat some of the crackers..." I said
"I can't..." she said softly
"Baby you gotta eat something. You haven't eaten all day. You don't have to eat much but please put something on your stomach for me..." I said looking at her
She looked at me.
"Please..." I said softly
She sighed.
"Give them here..." she said looking at me
I grabbed them and opened them. I passed her some and she started eating them.
"Thank you..." I said
She nodded her head with her eyes closed eating the crackers.
She ended up eating that pack and half of another pack. I also made her eat a few strawberries.
