A MONTH LATER

It's been a month since I last talked to or seen Kassidy. She decided she didn't want to continue what we had which I understood. Of course, I didn't wanna let her go. Also, I didn't wanna be selfish towards her cuz I wasn't fully able to be hers. I think about her all the time and I miss her so much.

A week ago, I dismissed the divorce. Clark thinks we are moving forward and letting bygones be bygones. And I tell him no different. I let him think what he wants so I can get what I need so I can leave.

Today, we're going so he can unfreeze my bank account. I put on my work clothes cuz I was going in for a couple of hours after we leave the place. We drove together in his truck. Car rides consist of making small talk until I cut music on.

We finally pulled up to the place, parked, and got out. While walking in, he grabbed my hand making me look at him. He smiled at me and I looked back forward. While walking in Simon, met us at the door. Simon was his right-hand man so it didn't surprise me that Simon was his help on it. He was a snake just like Clark.

"HEY!!" Simon said all excited before dabbing Clark up

I gave a small smile. He went in to hug me but I let Clark's hand go, moved my purse to that hand, and extended my hand to shake his.

"Okay, you guys can follow me this way..." he said

"How you doing, Winter??" He asked looking

"I have been better..." I said

Clark tried to grab my hand again, but I switched my purse to my other hand again.

"Well you look great..." he says before pushing the door open for us

"Thanks..." I said before walking in

I sat down and Clark sat beside me. Simon closed his door before walking to his desk and sat down.

"So, what are we here for today??" He asked looking at me then I looked at Clark

"To unfreeze her bank account..." Clark said

"Last time I talked to you, y'all was on the urge of divorcing. Y'all working it out??" He asked looking at us

Clark looked at me. I looked at him and gave the realest fakest smile I had in me. I grabbed his hand and squeezed it.

"Yes, we've working on it so we can move
on..." I said making him nod

I looked back at Simon.

"Can we make this quick, I gotta get to
work??" I asked

"Calm down, be patient..." Clark said as we looked at each other

"They're having breakfast at work, I don't wanna miss it..." I said with a pout

"You hungry??" Clark asked

I nodded.

"When we leave you can get whatever breakfast you want from wherever you want..." he said

"Really??" I asked with a smile

"Whatever, it's on me..." he said

I smiled bigger before he raised and was bout to kiss me. I quickly turned my face and he kissed my cheek. He smacked his lip and Simon chuckled.

"You is not off punishment Sir..." I said looking at him

"When will I be off punishment??" He asked

"You'll know..." I said before sitting back in my sit looking at Simon

"Shall we start??" He asked

"Yeah..." Clark said and I nodded

In the next 2 hours, we were finally leaving. We got in the car and headed off.

"What do you want to eat??" He asked placing his hand on my thigh

"I'm not really hungry anymore..." I said looking out the window

"Do you want Starbucks??" He asked

I looked at him.

"But you don't like buying it for me..." I said

"Let today be an exception..." he said making me smile

I squinted my eyes at him.

"What you tryna do??" I said making him chuckle

"I just want this time with us to be
different..." he said

"Okayyyyy..." I said making him smile

He took me and I got a refresher and a cheese danish. I ate that on the way to work. I gave him to rest of the cheese danish cuz I didn't want too much of it.

He pulled up to my job. I turned to him.

"You don't have to pick me up tonight, I'm going with Lilian to shop for a gift for her anniversary..." I said

"Well, I'll get food for tonight. What you wanna eat??" He asked

"Let'ssss do..." I said thinking
"Steak from Ev's..."

"Sides??" He asked

"Surprise me..." I said opening the door

"No hug or anything??" He asked stopping me in my tracks

I put two fingers up, kissed them, and placed them on his cheek. He smiled before I got out.

"I love you..." he said

I waved and walked into the building. I went up to my office and called Harlow.

"Yes Darling..." he said cuz he was expecting this call

"It's done..." I said before squealing excitedly

"Good Job..." he said
"You moving swiftly Darling..."

"You know I'm tryna get out..." I said

"I know Darling, you doing good..." he said
"About moving the money. Give it a couple of days, use your card for a bit before going to the bank..."

"Okayy, he sees my transactions so I know how imma use it..." I said smirking

He and I talked for a bit before I started with work.

*5 HOURS LATER

Lilian picked me up and we were heading to the mall. First stop was Victoria's Secret, that's where I swiped my card first. Second place was Sephora then in the sex store. I wanted him to think I was buying things to have sex with him. He gone see those transactions and his mind gone go wild, so predictable. While shopping Clark called to see when I was coming home.

In 2 more hours, we were pulling up to the house. I got out and walked up the driveway. He opened the door and I smiled. I waved at Lilian before going into the house.

"How was your day??" He asked kissing the back of my head as I slipped my heels off

"It was good. I bought some stuff..." I said

I turned to him with a smirk and held up the bags.

"What's in the bags??" He asked

"You can't see yet..." I said snatching them back before he grabbed them
"I'm going to put them up. If I feel like you've looked through my things, you won't get to see it..."

"Okay..." he said making me smile

"Good..." I said placing my hand on his chest

I walked upstairs as I felt his eyes on me.

"Did you order the food cuz I'm starving??" I asked as he followed me upstairs

"It'll be here shortly..." he said

"Well, imma shower first..." I said sitting my bags on my side of the closet at the top

"Can I join??" He asked as I walked to the bathroom

"Nope..." I said popping the "p"

I closed the door and then got in the shower. The food arrived when I got out. We ate, watched movies, then headed to bed
