Kelly Severide x Sick Girlfriend Reader (Chicago Fire)

Summary: Kelly's girlfriend is sick and he worries about her during his shift.

Warnings: Major fluff, slight angst

Kelly checks his phone for the umpteenth time in the last hour and Matt notices something's up with him.

"Sev, is everything alright," Matt asks him from where he was doing inventory.

"Yeah. Y/N's sick, that's all."

Matt shrugs, not fully convinced. Kelly's phone lights up with a text from you, saying you were going to the doctor because you couldn't sleep and the pain in your stomach was worse. Kelly sighs and calls you.

"Hey, hero."

"Do you want me to meet you?"

"No. I'm just gonna go see Will or Connor over at Med and I'll let you know later, alright?"

"Alright. Keep me posted."

You hang up and Kelly sighs. Stella walks over to Matt, eyes full of worry.

"Everything alright with Severide," she asks.

"Y/N's sick and he's been checking his phone like crazy."

Kelly stands up and walks to his quarters.

"I'll finish this. Go comfort your best friend," she tells him.

He hands her the clipboard and walks after Kelly.

"Kelly!"

He turns around and sighs.

"Look, I'm fine."

"Let's ask Boden if we can borrow the buggy and go see her."

They head to Boden's office and ask him. He hands Kelly the keys.

"Go be with Y/N," he says with a soft smile.

Boden always had a soft spot for you.  They get in and drive to Med. Will led them to your room when they arrive.

"She has food poisoning. I'm glad she came when she did or else she'd be worse off," he tells them.

"Thanks, Will," Kelly says when they reach your room.

You look up and see your boyfriend.

"I told you to stay at the firehouse."

"Well, when your girlfriend has food poisoning, you tend to not listen."

You chuckle and he kisses your head.

"Hey, Matt," you say and the Truck captain nods his head.

"How are you feeling," Kelly asks you.

"A little better. I was throwing up all morning, though."

Their radios go off with a call. Matt responds, leaving the room.

"We'll stop by after we finish," Kelly says, kissing you again.

"Go be a hero," you reply.
