"Hey, we have a case on its way to us," you say, walking into the bullpen while on the phone with your brother and his team.
"What do you mean," Jane asks, walking over.
You lead everyone to MTAC and put the call on the screen, your brother's team looking back at you.
"Why are we on a call with the Los Angeles field office," Kai asks you.
"Sokolov," Callen says.
"You're shitting me," you groan.
"Sorry, sis. We're after him and he's on his way to Hawaii," Marty tells you.
"I'm sorry. Who," your boyfriend asks.
"He's a goon for a Ukrainian crime syndicate the LA office took down with the 5-0 task force a few years back. I thought McGarrett killed him," you ask.
"Apparently he didn't shoot him enough times," Sam explains.
"Nell is faxing over the files on Comescu and Sokolov now," Kensi tells you.
"I can assume this means you'll be joining us," Jane asks.
"Yeah. Hetty's explaining to the director who's gonna sign off on a joint investigation," Callen tells her.
"We'll be there within the next six hours," Marty adds before ending the call.
"Alright, is anyone else confused as to why the one called Y/N 'sis'," Kai asks.
You and Jesse share a look and laugh.
"Before I transferred to Hawaii, I worked at the Los Angeles field office with my brother, Agent Marty Deeks."
Kai looks at Jesse.
"Remember when I said there was a family emergency in LA?"
Kai nods slowly and realizes.
"You were meeting her brother," he says.
"That was my brother's team."
Ernie comes in with a stack of papers in hand.
"Someone wanna explain why I just had a bunch of files from the LA field office come out of my printer, scaring me shitless," he asks.
"Joint investigation. Is this everything," you ask.
"So far. This stuff is dark," he says.
"That's Comescu for ya. Tall, dark, and deadly," you mumble, taking the papers from him.
You explain to the team what the initial case was.
"Comescu stole a biological weapon and was planning on selling it here in Hawaii. Sokolov and a bunch of others joined the trip over from LA. Callen and Sam contacted the 5-0 task force and formed a joint investigation. Callen's got a history with Comescu and killed him personally. Steve McGarrett shot down Sokolov, killing him."
"But he's still alive," Jane says.
"Point."
"It says here, Sokolov was seen boarding a United Airlines flight to Hawaii five hours ago," Jesse says, looking at the files.
"That flight landed thirty minutes ago," Kai hollers from his computer.
"You guys head to the airport. I'll meet you there," you tell them.
Jesse notices your change in behavior and stays back.
"I'll be fine," you tell your boyfriend.
"You sure?"
"This guy is insane. He's managed to fake his death for years and then just shows up outta nowhere."
"We'll catch him," he says, hugging you tightly.
