*ONE YEAR AGO*
You stood at the bus station with your boyfriend in his uniform, bag slung over his shoulder. You held back your tears as he kissed your head, assuring you he would stay safe. You embraced him, staying like that for a few minutes before he boarded the bus. You got in your car and broke down in tears. You went home and put on one of Mouse's hoodies, breathing in the cologne that lingered. Every day, you wore something of his; a shirt, hoodie, jacket, hat, whatever.
*PRESENT DAY*
When you got the call from Mouse, saying he was coming home early, you were elated. He was coming home tomorrow and you spent the day cleaning the apartment, getting ready for your soldier's return. You spent a few hours on the phone with his best friend, Jay Halstead, planning a party with the team at your place the night Mouse returned. You were planning on going to Molly's the following night for drinks. The next morning, you woke up and showered. You got dressed and ate breakfast.

Later in the afternoon, Mouse texted that his flight had landed and you drove to the airport. You saw him waiting near the baggage claim area and you bolted. You jumped in his arms, koala hugging him. He breathed in your perfume and shampoo, sighing in contentment. He kissed your temple and set you down. You walked out of the airport and drove back to the apartment, where the team was waiting. Jay had texted you when you parked outside the airport that he and the others were at your place and that he used his key to let them in. You and Mouse gave Jay a key when the two of you went on vacation a few years ago and had asked him to watch your place. You walked into the dark apartment and Mouse turned on the light, revealing the team. He made his rounds while you pulled the beer and White Claws from the fridge. The following day was spent in bed, cuddling and watching movies until you got ready for Molly's.

You went into the bar with your boyfriend and everyone cheered when they saw him. You spent the night drinking and having fun.
