When the active shooter alarm went off, you thought it was a drill. But when no announcement was made, you texted your boyfriend.

You: the active shooter alarm's going off

Victor: is it a drill?

You: no

Reading that text made Victor's heart sink to his stomach. He ran from his conversation with Chris and Luca to find Hondo and Hicks.

"Tan, what's going on," Hondo asks.

Victor goes to answer but the sound of phones going off with the active shooter alert answered Hondo's question.

"That. My girlfriend thought it was a drill but no one made an announcement prior to the alarm going off," the worried man tells his boss.

"Hondo, you'll take the lead on this," Hicks tells him.

They load up and head to the school, where you sat with a bunch of scared sixth graders in your classroom.

"Alright, Deacon, you take Street to the seventh-grade wing. Victor and Chris, take the sixth-grade wing. Luca, you're with me in eighth grade," Hondo explains.

They split up, taking extra uniforms for backup. When Victor and Chris reach the hallway that your classroom was in, all he feels is fear. You sat with the students in the front of your room while officers swept the building. You heard a few gunshots outside your room before the door burst open. You looked up to see your boyfriend lowering his gun when he saw you. Two uniforms took the shooter away and you ran to Victor while Chris got the students out of the room. Victor led you outside and grasped your shaking hands in his.

"Hey, you alright," he asks once you're outside.

"Just a little shaken up," you answer.

The team relaxes when they see you with Victor. Chris hugs you tightly as your boyfriend releases a breath he didn't realize he was holding in.

"Take her home and be with her," Hondo tells him.

"You sure?"

Hondo gives him a look and Victor nods. They head back to the compound and Victor quickly changes his clothes before taking you back to his apartment. He took a few days off to make sure you were alright and the school was closed for a few weeks, switching to remote learning for the last three months of the school year.
